The date is Saturday, October 20th from 10am to 5pm. The 3rd Annual Bellevue Backyard BBQ cook-off will be held in front of the Bellevue Mall out on the greenway near Hwy 70. Set up and grilling will begin Friday the 19th at 10am after registration and meat inspections are completed. There are 4 categories: pork, beef, chicken, and ribs. The entry fee is $25 per category. All meat must be raw and uncooked prior to grilling. The TN health dept doesn’t allow selling or sampling of the prepared meat. Entrants are allowed to provide for their family and friends however. Judging will begin at 1:00. Each entry will be judged by taste, tenderness, and appearance. Interested entrants may call the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce at 662-2737 for a registration form. Jim & Nicks BBQ will be on hand for food purchases. There will be live entertainment, pony rides for the kids, a pumpkin patch, old fashioned cake walk, and civic club booths.
