Polyurethane Wood Floor
- A synthetic resin in which the polymer units are linked by urethane groups, used chiefly as constituents of paints, varnishes, adhesives, and foams

Minwax 13025 VOC Fast Drying Polyurethane For Floor
Polyurethane for floors has 3 big benefits that make it unique and different from fast dry poly. First, the dry time is 3 to 4 hours, 25% faster than traditional poly. Second, if you recoat within 12 hours, you don't have to sand between coats. Third, poly for floors is formulated with advanced anti setting agents that keep the flattener (used in satin and semi gloss) suspended all day, which results in less stirring time. This clear, oil based protective finish is specifically formulated for hardwood floors. Apply with natural bristle brush or synthetic stain pad. Drying time could be longer if using a lambswool applicator due to thicker coat. Can be applied over Minwax wood finish or gel stain. The result is a beautiful, durable, even sheen across the floor. Covers approximately 400 to 450 sq. ft. per gallon depending on porosity of surface. Clean up with mineral spirits. VOC compliant for OTC and LADCO territories. Wood Block Floors - Sandia Heights, Albuquerque, NM
This is a one of a kind floor. End cut 4x4 blocks. The old floor was a pinkish colored tile and this customer wanted something a little more natural. The floor was sanded very rough (per customer request), then stained and topped off with a couple of coats of polyurethane.
The (re)Finished Product
The stain color is "Dark Walnut". I really wanted to use "Special Walnut" because of the name, but it wasn't dark enough. I covered the stain with two coats of polyurethane.
