Another view. The question is why did the plank hold up so much better than the tank top? Part of the answer is pretty clear: look at the strip of tank top along the plank. It is coated with epoxy because it's near the glue joint and it has held up nicely.
Epoxying
The little parts were welded onto the top but they broke off when I dropped the computer. Im trying epoxy and seeing how that works.
