Barbie Collector Crazy Rare Becky

Meet Becky, a slightly familiar face from another time and place. Appropriately attired in a 70s-inspired bright yellow party dress, Becky doll wears terrific period makeup with robin's egg blue eyeliner over her eyes and a soft shade of pink lipstick. Two additional fashions accompany the doll. The first includes a pink turtleneck, long flowing floral patterned skirt, matching headscarf, and beaded necklace. The second fashion features a lovely pink pantsuit with matching vest, floral top, and pink headband complete the package. Doll has bendable legs, twist 'n turn waist, and rooted eyelashes.

For some reason both of Smiley Cultures album where rather rare which is really odd since the man was some kind of cross-over sensation in the UK with his hit songs such as »Cockney Translation« and »Police Officer«.

This set, which I was totally unaware of about until about a year ago, gathers his most known songs in showcase format. The two songs mentioned above are included in their original mixes while the songs »Entertainer, Entertainer« and »Shan A Shan« are presented in brand new remixes. Personally I've never heard the original mixes of those songs so I can't really say if they're any improvement to their original cuts. But both songs are brilliant UK dancehall. The cut of Heavenless used on »Entertainer, Entertainer« has that really pumping bass. The remaining two songs are presented in »previously unreleased versions«. »Slam Bass« has a nice rub-a-dub rhythm over which Smiley flows in finest of patterns, nicely interjected by elegant and sparse horns. A brilliant new version. »Roots Reality« is over a nice cut of Sleng Teng.

If you rate the UK chatters of the mid 80's then this is a crucial set. Generally I feel there are too few showcase albums with deejays. This one shows that it works brilliantly.
