2009 day 20: Crochet forever
I have been working off-and-on on this crocheted blanket for more than two years. It was originally conceived as a baby blanket, but I made it too big and underestimated just how long it would take to work up with such small yarn (size 3 cotton). But I love the pattern. And since its 100% cotton it will get softer and softer as it gets washed over time. I think I can get it done in time for the 'baby's' third birthday! Yay!
Taking this photo was highly entertaining. I had to sit the camera on my balcony (aka boobs). Its really hard to settle a camera on such a soft round surface! LOL! I also had to hold my breath while waiting for the camera timer to wind down and trigger the shot. Photographing crochet is not as easy as actually doing the crochet. :-)
Multi Colored Star Blanket
This is one of my favorite baby blanket patterns. I started off with a soft multi-colored yarn and accented it with a light yellow color.

It is essentially a simple spring steel with chromium added for hardenability. It has good wear resistance, but is known especially for its outstanding toughness. This steel performs well over a wide range of hardnesses, showing great toughness when hardened in the low 50s Rc for swords, and hardened up near the 60s for knives needing more edge holding
