An electrical battery is one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy.
A battery (or voltaic pile) is a device for making electricity by chemical means. In the 1790s, Alessandro Volta (1745-1827) discovered that if pieces of different metals were piled on top of each other separated by cardboard soaked in an acid, an electric current was produced.

bicycle: a wheeled vehicle that has two wheels and is moved by foot pedals
A bicycle or motorcycle

Delia's EG Electric Bike
My co-worker Delia rides this EG electric bicycle from the office. The 200 Watt hub motor provides electric assist and is controlled from a handlebar mounted switch similar to what I've seen on BionX equipped eBikes. The motor is speed governed to 18 mph and the 24V Lithium Ion battery has a claimed range of 35 miles, which isn't too bad.
As near as I can tell, these are imported from Indonesia, retail for about $1000 and are sold mostly online and from scooter stores.
Electric bike
This looks like a moped, but it is in fact an electric bike.
There is one battery under the floor boards and one under the seat.
Requires no license, no road tax, no M.O.T. no lid..
