My Commute Home
Biking home in hub-high snow is sure to get your thighs burning. Here I paused along the Washington Ave. bridge over the Mississippi River for a brief rest and a photo.
It took me about 2 hours to go roughly 6 miles - walking/pushing and biking when able. I had a great time doing it - looking forward to the next opportunity.

The Build:
Surly Cross-Check (54cm), Brooks B-17 Saddle, seatpost off my 1988 Trek 360, Nitto Noodle Handlebars weave-wrapped with cotton tape and shellacked, Specialized stem I picked up for 8 bucks, Planet Bike Fenders, Ortlieb Pannier, Tubus Cargo Rack, Schmidt Dynohub with E6 headlight, Ultegra drivetrain, kickstand I picked up in Germany for about 10 Euros, NOKIAN Studded tires, Open Pro rims, B&M spoke reflectors, Feine Raeder water bottle, egg beater pedals - it kicks your bikes ass.
Hakkapeliitta Winter tire - single stud
It's pretty small, at the distance limit for the Tamron 180 mm.

No snow, people makes space for you, because of the strange sound.
However, one winter, not so cold, I was ridding my bike and just wondering , why the pedestrians were moving funny. I found out why, when I stopped a red light and put my feet down. At least I tried, and nearby fell down.
I dont't know how many kilometers are att the tire already, but at least 500 km
