Furniture Factory Showroom
- Factory Showroom is the sixth studio album by the band They Might Be Giants. It was released in 1996 (see 1996 in music) through Elektra Records.

47/365 | Rubber Furniture
This shot was taken inside a furniture factory's showroom in Kulim, Kedah. We're doing a videoshoot for a client, showing how furniture-making industry has progressed in term of technology used and how materials are now optimised in preventing wastage.
The furnitures here are made of local rubber wood. Their almost neutral colour is a good aesthetic choice as these furnitures are for overseas export (they can be colour-sprayed to any likings, based on client's specs. Americans for example would want their furniture to be mahogany-coloured).
Here is a set of dining table with chairs. The table top was made from laminated board. It is solid wood of small sizes made usable using finger-jointing techniques and stuck together using glue and compressing machine. The table can be extended to sit six people (current setup allows four) where the centre part can be pulled to reveal a foldable piece, tucked underneath table.
Inside the factory - a wall of light
We had the factory designed to make good use of natural daylight and to provide a pleasant and light environment in which to work. Good natural light is also helpful when working with natural wood. A picture window runs the length of the factory and looks out on the hedgerow behind.
