Lexington Girls Furniture

The black-and-white photographs of the Farm Security Administration-Office of War Information Collection are a landmark in the history of documentary photography. The images show Americans at home, at work, and at play, with an emphasis on rural and small-town life and the adverse effects of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and increasing farm mechanization. Some of the most famous images portray people who were displaced from farms and migrated West or to industrial cities in search of work. I am in love love LOVE with this desk!
It's in really great shape (other than the wear to the top edge and small drawer front, handles and a couple nicks n dings) It's SOLID wood, really well made - by Lexington which I have been trying to research ... It's not old but has a semi-vintage feel to it ... distressed just enough to be cute, not so much to seem worn out. NO smells, either! Some stains inside the pencil drawer (apparently it was a girls desk) but overall very clean and nice ♥
I think at one point it probably had a glass top but I hate glass furniture so I wouldn't want to replace that anyway. Might have had a hutch on top? (You know Goodwill - they get a full furniture suite in and stupidly don't put it all out at the same time RARRR)
$35 - which is more than I have probably ever spent on one single thrift store item! but have you ever tried to buy / price new (or old!) solid wood desks? Mmmmhmmm ...
