- cuttlefish stew, red-blossom sausage, beancurd, bowl rice, vermicelli in soup

Lord Street, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, circa 1969

Standing outside Shaw's furniture shop in Lord Street, Huddersfield, the conductor on bus 189 chats to his driver before making their next run up to Brighouse to the north of the town. Just a few years before this picture was taken, the 34 service to Brighouse had been a trolleybus route, that was until trolleybus operations along this line of route ceased in 1965. However, trolleybuses continued to operate in to other areas of Huddersfield until Saturday 13th July 1968, when the final trolleybus carrying a civic party made its way to Waterloo and Outlane before returning to depot for the last time.

189 was a Roe bodied AEC Regent V that had been new to the Transport Department in 1958.
