Somewhat distressed twenty five year old Danish console table. The center of the top is veneer over plywood and it's delaminating and a little worn looking.
For no particular reason, one day I took my tape measure to that top and found to my surprise that the center section is sixteen inches by forty eight inches.
Inches? This is from Denmark. Why isn't it metric? Never mind that. SIxteen by forty eight is three sixteen inch squares. I know I can get sixteen inch tiles. This can be rebuilt as a tile top table.
A part time project that came out pretty good.
Cherry with an oil finish.
Based on an antique creole table, with the apron modified to a "heart" shape.
The legs are hand carved, and this ended up being a very delicate table. The cross section of the legs touching the floor is only about a quarter inch square.
