Okay, this set is called "Bermuda Trip" so you may be wondering why it is that I am showing a cheesesteak place in Philly as the first picture.
Well, we flew from San Jose to Philadelphia on Saturday night on the red eye. We landed at 7am and waited until 9:40 for the flight to Bermuda. Then, they told us there was "air conditioning problems" with the plane from Philly to Bermuda, and it was delayed while they fix it. Well, we sat there in the terminal for hours. They got us another plane around 11am, but it also had air conditioning problems, so it was delayed too. Then, they tried to reallocate another plane around 1pm, but just as it was arriving, a thunderstorm came through so the plane was rerouted to Baltimore instead of Philly. Finally around 3pm, they canceled the whole flight altogether and told us it was "due to weather" and we'd have to fly on tomorrow's flight, and because it was canceled due to weather instead of the air conditioning, they wouldn't pay for any hotel for us.
For those of you who know Margaret, you can imagine the fury she flew into upon that news. Fortunately, she had 10s of people equally incensed right behind her all saying the same thing. Finally, the staff called the manager who quickly relented and gave us all $69 towards a hotel. It didn't pay for the room, but at least it made it cheaper.
So we were free for the night in Philly. So what do you eat when it's your first time in Philly? Cheesesteak of course. We could have gone to Pat's where it was invented, but the locals all told us that there was nothing around it and that Jim's was one of the best and we could do a historical downtown tour right afterwards.
So of course we went downtown and had our cheesesteak.
Oh, and for those interested it was US Airways that screwed us around like that.
