a funky wedding cake for a cool couple who decided to base their wedding theme on the music they both love. they wanted something colourful, with a montage of different images representing the artists or bands on the side of the cake. the musical notes and piano keys tie everything together and make the disjointed images cohesive on the cake. as for the bride and groom, they wanted the groom to wear a tux with an "elvis" collar and the bride to have a slight "beehive" hairstyle.

this cake is my swan song at this place where i'm working. it's the last wedding cake i'm doing before i leave the company, so i gave it my all. most of the details are handpainted and took many many hours, but it was worth it. my last day will be the 24th of Dec. after that, i probably won't be posting as much since i won't be making cakes every day anymore. in the meantime, i'll be moving back to my parents' house in Penang and spending some quality time with my family especially my aging granny. i'll also be able to do some cake/cookie projects from home and perhaps also write the book on cake decorating i've always wanted to write. of course i'll be looking for a job as well, so if anyone knows if there are any job vacancies (especially in Singapore) do contact me. it's the end of a great 4 years at this company and i'm hoping that the future will be just as educational and fun. ^_^
