E, taj se grad zvao Shermer, i smislio ga je redatelj John Hughes koji je u njega smjestio hrpu svojih filmova, uključujući i jedan od najboljih i najutjecajnijih tinejdžerskih filmova ikad napravljenih - The Breakfast Club. Obavezna scena plesa u tinejdžerskom filmu. And for once, without professional dancers.
Također, u The Breakfast Clubu se pojavljuje prvi filmski 'makeover' ikad, a pjesma "Don't you (Forget About Me)" Simple Mindsa korištena u filmu je bila prva na američkim top ljestvicama upravo zbog filma, tako da je na kraju sama pjesma postala simbolom tinejdžerskih filmova. I našla se u njih podosta. Inače, Dawson's Creek je posvetio cijelu epizodu ovom filmu, Gilmoreice ga konstatno spominju, a ne preskače ga ni One Tree Hill. Fraza "Eat my shorts" je svoje mjesto pod suncem našla u Simpsonovima. Niz scena i situacija iz The Breakfast Cluba parodirano je u filmu Not Another Teen Movie</em>, serijama Prijatelji i Family guy i drugima, te u jednom of Star Wars Tales stripova.
Trivia: The word fuck is said 28 times in the movies.
