Garage Afterparty is the last festival in the Spring garage trilogy of 2006 series. After the successful Garage explosion festival last year, the so-called "FOREPLAY" and "AFTERPARTY" were added to this year's event. The line-up of the first event - held on 17. 2. 2006 - included band such as Blutwurst, Dr. Zero, The Real Things and Thunderbabies. At the same time, Muškat Hamburg premiered the video for their song "Kongo". This was an excellent forecast for the main event - Garage Explosion in March, with Gods Chosen Dealers (England), Messerschmitt, The Knuckleheads, Welcomin' Comittee and Flames (all CRO), The Staggers, Knights of Good Taste (both AUT), as well as Hic et Nunc and Crazed Farmers (both SLO) performing.
And now - for dessert - we're preparing Garage Afterparty, presenting three of the most piercing local rock bands, as well as hosting the most genuine protagonists of the genre from our former common motherland - DMT from Novi Sad and Erotic Biljan & his Heretics from Zagreb. With a smaller number of bands playing, we are looking forward to a more relaxed show, the kind that rock'n'roll's victory over boredom deserves!

GIRAFFEMEN (GER)

This German punk / garage / psychobilly attraction, putting forward the 60's punk's animal nature (with a little imagination, we could call it Tarzan - rock), joined the line-up in the last minute. Minimalistically clad male quartet will be accompanied by a dancing female trio Marietta's Sisters, and we can only wait and see what will be the result of them being joined on stage by our local Air-guitar matador Urko. Thier music? Extremelly hedonistic, with lyrics that leave little to the imagination. One of them is: I love my life!

Band: Olli Polli - vocals, Rotten Rolle - guitar, Schnabel - bass, Phillip - drums.

DMT (SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO)

DMT (or Distortion of the motor chain-saw) originated in the early nineties. Similar to a lot of other bands, their line-up changed many times since then. The first entry in their discography dates back to 2002, when their first album "DMT" was published, which left everybody raving about the sharp rock'n'roll in the Serbian language, obviously influenced by bands such as Ramones, New Bomb Turks and Devil Dog. Since then, they've released two more records, "Saturday Night Special" and "Rock'n'Roll Radio", and maintained the respect of their fans with their numerous live concerts (among them a tour of Slovenia in 2003, and two European tours in 2004). After visiting us, the possibly most exciting concert of their carrier awaits them, as they'll be playing with bands like Motorhead, Supersuckers and Nashville Pussy at the Goa Rock Festival in India!

Band: Mića - vocals and guitar, Nenad - bass, Mladen - drums.

EROTIC BILJAN & HIS HERETICS (CRO)

This Zagreb band played their first concert in 1998, and caught the Slovene audience's attention at their 2003 concert in Ljubljana, when their show with The Cynics restored the faith of many of the garage rock'n'roll fans. And rightfully so! With their colleagues The Babies they left a distinctive mark on last year's Garage Explosion, when a renown rock critic described their concert as the most important one after the Dead Moon concert about a decade age, and their music as an implementation of The Sonics' and The Stooges' influences. The same could be said for their performance at the FV 1985 - 2005 festival, even though they were followed by such rock giants as The Nomads and Meteors. At the moment, we are eagerly awaiting the release of their (already recorded) album, which is due out any time now. Let's hope it will happen before their concert in Maribor!

Band: Erotic Biljan - guitar, Jura the Wildman - vocals, Screamin' Yeah Zhalac - guitar, Barefoot Elena - bass, Janko - drums.

MALO MORGEN (Maribor, SLO)

This Maribor punk rock quartet first stepped on the scene about five years age. Its members were previously known as some of the most faithful followers of bands such as KUD Idijoti, Goblini and Partibrejkers. If we add Ramones and Azra to these names, you get the idea about their biggest influences. Like them, Malo morgen give a lot of attention to the song and its message, usually "served" with an easy to memorize, almost hymn-like chorus. They stick to what they love, regularly publish recordings on the internet, and work on establishing a Maribor - Pula punk'n'roll corridor.

Band: Alpi - vocals, Aleš - guitar, Puta - bass, Matej - drums.

COSA NOSTRA (Sladki Vrh, SLO)

The band is relatively new, only two years old, but their hard - headed approached earned them the name of one of the most active groups on north-east Slovenia's rock scene. They successfully maintain the rich musical tradition of bands such as CZD and Dr. Zero, and are the main culprit of Sladki Vrh's concert renaissance. Their positive outlook and constant progress have been opening new doors for them lately, so new surprises from their camp will not be surprising to us.

Band: Čuto - bass and vocals, Agro - guitar, Štef - guitar, Obo - drums.

MUŠKAT HAMBURG (Maribor, SLO)

This Maribor punk rock'n'roll band was established in 1996, and has been performing with the same line-up since 2003, which marked the turning point in their history. After performing on Radio Študent's Club marathon they had a series of concerts, until finally going to the studio last year to record their debut. Before its release the band shot and released a video for their song "Kongo", while at the beginning of May a compilation of re-makes of Pankrti (the protagonists of the Slovene punk movement in the 70s) was released, with Muškat Hamburg contributing the song "Lepi in prazni".

Band: Madamfucker - vocals, Bizga the Panzer - drums, Kuki Cold-Eye - guitar, Sissy Pop(e) - bass, Otto Corporal Cutt-Butt - guitar.
