Zadržati ću se na Šveđinom slučaju: nisam znao da je i u profesionalnoj košarci tako lagano dati otkaz nekome kada znate da HZZ u Zvonimirovoj NE vrvi talentiranim krilnim centrima koji mogu skočiti do vrha table i zabiti svaku drugu tricu s osam metara, a u protekle su dvije sezone igrali na prestižnim terenima Amerike, Rusije i Litve.
Dakle voljeli mi ili ne Šveđu, Callowaya i Becka moramo ih prihvatiti i kao ljude koji žive u jednom kompleksnom svijetu i da su stvari takve kakve jesu, a da bi treneri koliko ja znam između ostaloga morali biti solidni psiholozi i pedagozi. Aco & Perase, nije li scouting report novih pojačanja uključivao i njihovu psihološku crtu ili se to uzelo pod "bogom dano"?
Što bi sada trebali napraviti? Nisam plaćen da to kažem, ali otkaz je posljednji na listi opcija. Odgovorni klupski čelnici bi trebali uzeti time-out, razmisliti i pronaći mnogo kvalitetnija rješenja.
Najlakše je trošiti novac kada ga imaš, a fali strpljenja, povjerenja i tolerancije...

A nice point from the past:
Doron Jamchi was one of Israel's best basketball players, a great shooter, rated by many as Israel's 2nd best (to the great Miki Berkovitch).
Apparently he was a bit of a looser, too, loosing 4 times at the European championship finals with Maccabi Tel Aviv (1987, 1988, 1989, 2000).
Not surprisingly, he had only 2 last second winning shots throughout his career, and both came against Croatian teams. Look here & here.

Sixteen years ago, the legendary basketball court in Venice Beach (L.A.) became the part of the legendary street-ball movie "White men can't jump" starring Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.
A couple of days ago, on the same court, Olympic gold medalist and NBA superstar LeBron James was challenged by warehouse worker David Kalb in the basketball game known as H-O-R-S-E.
This basketball battle of epic proportions was the new millennium edition of one of the moovie's most famous scenes.
In the end, the total underdog, but well-trained, Kalb gained planetary popularity and a chance to hopefully sign a couple of endorsement deals...

LeBron James can have his gold medal. At least for a day, former Wynford High School standout David Kalb took the King’s crown. Fresh from an overpowering performance in the Beijing Olympics, James finally met his match back on home soil as Kalb swept him in a best-of-three game of H-O-R-S-E. The two squared off Wednesday on an legendary outdoor court in Venice Beach after Kalb won an online contest, “LeBron’s Trick Shot Challenge”.
