    Third century, second maniple, first cohort, first legion. Three hundredth post. We called the first century Lies, The second Love, and the third could carry the title of Home. But home is not just peace and refuge, home is also struggle, for it must be defended. The only wonder is how evil wants to intrude into the homes of others, to seize them, or pull them down. It is much in the nature of the struggle, that I do not call home defence. But while we are, looking at the whole, out of the generations a generation all spoiled, the wonder is how many good people come as guests to this blogdom. And how many heroes.

    Reality demanded that I actually spent most of this time at home as well. Some people might call this third century after the Fat Sparrow.. Gladly, but he is also part of the neighbourhood. And he is a hero, if not of our day, at least of my balcony. But then sometimes a fat cat comes across the roof, from the street below, and many other bird and bug visitors, so who knows who is the master of the balcony!

    You know I am not a democrat. I am a man of the old days because my heart is old-fashioned. The old-fashioned heart says to me that this is right and natural. We do not play roles. Home is not a theatre, even if "all the world's a stage" and "the roles were handed out long ago". We just Are. And where can we be more sweetly than when we are at home?

    PS (All the same, lately I have been a bit less in the bloghome , and come less to hang around in the blogneighbourhood. My Beloved is finishing off a big job, on my pride and glory, and we both work from home. Ah, home!)
