10 Aug Hurry Up and 104 average Day 263

10 Aug Hurry Up and 104 average Day 263

I started a new collage on icon board. She will be holding the pump in her hand because when she is naked, she has to hold the pump. Hence, the Hurry Up.

104 is the average on my glucose meter which translates to about 5.4% A1C. My actual A1C is 6.6%, 143 average...I have been 6.2-6.6 since insulin treatment started in 1992.

I am hoping that I am really doing better with more testing, more communicating with you all and more awareness of potential lows and highs.

As I looked up how averages on the meter correlate with A1C, I am seeing that they don't usually correlate at all. The CGMS is really helping people see blood sugars all day long. I really need to figure out how to get one with out costing tons of money.

Diabetes365 Day 63- January 2, 2008- Pump burnout

Diabetes365 Day 63- January 2, 2008- Pump burnout

Lately I've been experiencing a bit of pump burnout. This happened to me 4 years ago and I relieved it by going on Lantus for 4 months.

I start to resent having something attached to me all the time. I start to hate carrying it around all the time. I even get a little self-conscious about it. This, combined with the cost of it, is part of the reason I haven't been wearing my Dexcom full-time. It's all just a little too much.

When it comes down to it I can't justify NOT using a pump. I love having insulin with me all the time. Also, the amount of flexibility and control is unmatched.
