Twisty and baggy long john legs... you might think I could have remedied this and taken another shot BUT, to get the wood stove to look lively, I opened it up before I set up the camera, etc. and so it was roaring and cheerful before I knew it but cheerful goes quickly to h-e-double-hockey-sticks and it started to smell HOT and I had to shut it down quick. The eggnog? While we were having lunch Bea looked out the window and said sadly, "I wish it was Christmas again and we could have that yummy eggnog..." at which point I remembered: right after New Year's I noticed there was One More Bottle of Strafford Creamery Eggnog at the store. I bought it. And hid it in the back of the cheese bin in the fridge. And forgot about it. So not only was the stovepipe getting waaaaaay too hot while I took this, but Bea is just to the right of the frame saying, "Pleeeeeease can I have some eggnog?! Why is it in the Bench Monday?!" I don't know why. But please know that I wished I had straightened out my legs. And thank you for reading this novel.
