Turkey Sandwich & Spinach/Mandarin Salad
Freshly Sliced, Home Cooked Turkey Breast on 100% Wheat Bread with a Spinach/Mandarin Salad (includes red onions, mandarins, a careful hint of blue cheese w/Ginger Mandarin Dressing and Flax seed oil). Option: Slivered Almonds are also delicious.
For the reason that sandwiches are the number one item eaten by Americans, we must be aware of the fact that most lunch meats are processed and contain nitrites and nitrates, which are preservatives, coloring and flavoring additives and have been linked to cancer. Thus, we must choose our lunch- meats carefully (of course all other food items also). Fresh Meats are always a plus for making a delicious sandwich.
Tip of the Day: A great way to make a healthy and delicious sandwich is to either (1) purchase sliced meat from your grocer's deli (although this could be a bit costly by the pound) or (2) you may purchase a fresh Turkey Breast to prepare and cook to your likings. After turkey has cooled, slice to your desired thickness and store in an air tight container for the duration of the week.
