  • "Cleaning Up" is the twelfth episode of the first season of the HBO original series, The Wire. The episode was written by George Pelecanos from a story by David Simon & Ed Burns and was directed by Clement Virgo. It originally aired on September 1, 2002.

  • As in, "We'll clean up the affidavit/claimt/perjurious statement later, preferably in a document that nobody will see.

The not very convincing drywall patch, which I spackled over sits between the outlet and cable jack. There are other repairs to this wall, however, that you can't easily see, which means they were a success. The dark vertical stripes would disappear when the painters got to this room. They were simply dust collection points between vertical panels on the back of an IKEA bookcase.



My husband advised me to use the shop-vac to clean up all these piles of drywall dust around the perimeter of the room and to clean up what was collected all along the base of the walls. What he didn't tell me was that, since we don't have a filter on our shop-vac, I'd basically be creating a gigantic dust cloud in the basement that wouldn't settle until around 2016.
