Take the Long Way Home
All across the world, people suddenly vanish in the blink of an eye. From their cars during the rush hour commute. From the shopping malls. Their homes. Their beds. Even from the arms of their loved ones. Airline pilots. World leaders. Teachers. Parents. Children. Gone. Steve, Charlie and Frank were just trying to get home when it happened. Now they find themselves left behind, and wishing they'd disappeared, too. Trapped in the ultimate traffic jam, they watch as civilization collapses, claiming the souls of those around them. God has called his faithful home, but the invitations for Steve, Charlie and Frank got lost. Now they must set off on foot through a nightmarish post-apocalyptic landscape in search of answers. In search of God. In search of their loved ones. And in search of home. Deadite Press is proud to make Brian Keene's long out-of-print critically-acclaimed Take The Long Way Home available to readers once again! Includes an introduction by New York Times-bestselling author John Skipp!
Keene Family Portrait
RGK1958 transcription of HMG1900 notes and interpretation of photo based on comparison of other Keene family photo where HMG gets the Gray and Edward Ames II boys mixed up. Also, I believe HMG got the Grace and Earle mixed up. Earle is wearing the same dress in the summer picture. So, I believe Earle is on the far left standing and Grace is on the far right standing. My interpretation is that the Gray boy is sitting in front of Maude and Edward is standing to her right :

Keene Academy, Keene, NH
Keene Academy, Keene, NH
Schools - NH - Keene
Photograph of the old Keene Academy, which was opened in 1837 by a committee of the First Congregational Society, under the direction of Breed Batcheller. The building was built the preceding summer on the site of the later Central Junior High School, which is now a parking lot on Winter Street. The land was given by Abijah and Azel Wilder to a board of 15 trustees and the funds were raised by subscription. It was a private institution charging tuition and there were about 200 enrolled students. The Academy was open for 17 years under ten principals, but due to lack of funds closed in 1853 and leased the building to the "Associated Districts" for a high school. It was sold to the "Union School District" in 1865 and later torn down to allow the building of the old Keene High School.
