From a description:
This unusual tractor, termed the "Donut" by showmen, was originally designed as a standard Caterpillar D6 crawler with steel tracks. Pneumatic tires were adapted to it so that the tractor could navigate the the unusual surface of Florida's sugar cane fields. Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey saw the tractor, designated a Caterpillar D6B, as a solution to the obstacles encountered in railroad yards while unloading the circus train.

it was a gift to Circus World Museum from Royal American Shows in 1968, and restored in 2001 by FABCO Equipment Inc, the area CAT sales and service outlet.
