Rebuilding Power Steering Pump
1955 Ford station wagon
Walker radiator. I had to use a custom harmonic balancer to shorten the engine. The pulleys are the early 3 bolt style. The air-conditioning compressor bracket is from Alan Grove. It adjusts front and rear to align with various pulleys. It will have 1/2 inch more spacer behind the fan and a shoroud. I will change the front cover to an "early" and run a Holley fuel pump in the stock location. I have a custom power steering pump that will mount on a custom machined bracket. I am making several extra brackets so if anyone wants one. I will show a detail shortly. I found and rebuilt a stock power steering unit for it.
SBC off the stand and in the car
Back where it belongs. The power steering pump is not mounted yet in this photo because the block did not have the bosses drilled and tapped to mount it.I did not notice this on the stand or at the start of the build, too late it's all together,[WTF!!!]where's the fun???,so I used the pump bracket for a template and drilled/tapped the bolt bosses with the eng.in the car,I was not in a good mood abought that to say the least, but it all worked out and no water sprays out when the engine is running.
