CHRISTMAS WALL DECOR : GOTHIC DECORATION.
Christmas Wall Decor
no! nyet! năo! neen!
My old-employer-but-now-client just called me, their freelance designer, to invite me to their company Christmas party. I guess they had an open slot.
I almost choked when they asked. It was last year, at the very same Christmas party, that I decided that I was not going to do this again. Seven consecutive years of that company Christmas party had almost driven me over the edge. Sitting in the same upholstered chair, being served the same mouthwatering entree, finding no way to enjoy it because I was seated next to D., the home office's CFO....
It strikes me as curious, you know, the corporate Christmas party. You're instructed to get dressed up and to drive downtown and pay for parking for the pleasure of hanging out again for an evening with people that you see way too frequently during the week. I have never understood it.
Really, the people at this office are good people, and in any other context, I'd go. I don't see them all that often, and I genuinely enjoy them. My refusal has much less to do with them, more to do with the principle.
I politely declined the offer. Then I hung up the phone. And then shouted OVER MY DEAD BODY I'LL GO TO YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY!
amazing rooftop Xmas decor
it'd be interesting to see what this decked-out house would look like at night from a helicopter, especially since i was impressed with the white, red, and green decor of the right pyramid section of the roof(and of the lights on the garage roof + on the walls of it).
taken in the Towers neighborhood, otherwise located in west Lincolnwood(thanks to elliot of lincolnwood on flickr for providing me with that fact), and located north of the Edgebrook neigborhood in Chicago.
