    infrared filter
  • Infrared cut-off filters, sometimes called IR filters or heat-absorbing filters, are designed to reflect or block mid-infrared wavelengths while passing visible light.

  • Capture on film as part of a series of moving images; make a movie of (a story or event)

Use for photography with infrared films. Infrared film is also sensitive to ultraviolet rays and the shorter wavelengths of the visible spectrum so it is necessary to filter out all but the infrared rays. IR950 passes only infrared rays above 950nm.

Infrared filter often used in crime detection, medical photography, detection of distribution of vegetation, etc. For photographer, this filter can be used with infrared film or digital photography to get interesting artistic and sometimes creative photos.

Specifications:
*Infrared Filter
*Material: high quality optical glass
*Size: 58mm

Tips:

We recommend you to choose the suitable ones for your camera. Different IR filters have different effects. You can use the filter individually or in any combination to meet your demand.

--950nm is suitable for outdoor and strong light use.

--850nm is suitable for outdoor and strong light use.

--760nm is suitable for indoor and weak light use.

--720nm is suitable for indoor and weak light use.

Infrared 'gel' for pop-up flash

Infrared 'gel' for pop-up flash

Fashioned in my usual slap-dash manner out of cardboard, gaffer tape, velcro and the inner of a floppy disk as the gel part. The card backing is shaped such that it holds the gel comfortably away from the flash surface to prevent it suffering heat damage (which it will do if in contact).
Modelled on my Dynax 5, but generally used on my Sony A100.
I don't seem to have so much of a problem with the light when shooting off-camera flash with the film camera.

Infrared is a spectrum of light beyond that which we normally see. Infrared photography was only used in film cameras in the past, but despite having an IR blocking filter installed between the lens and the Digital Camera's Sensor, most digital cameras can still react to infrared energy, though at levels far lower than visible light. To take "infrared" pictures - i.e., photos primarily made up of near infrared energy - you need to filter out the visible light and only allow the infrared spectrum through to the lens. The easiest way to do this is to use an infrared filter.
