Schiele, Egon (1890-1918) - 1909 Portrait of the Painter Anton Peschka (Sotheby's London, 2001)

Oil, silver and gold bronze paint on canvas; 110 x 100 cm.

Egon Schiele was Austrian Expressionist painter, draftsman, and printmaker noted for the eroticism of his figurative works. As a student at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts (1907–09), Schiele was strongly influenced by the Jugendstil movement, the German Art Nouveau. He met Gustav Klimt, leader of the Vienna Sezession group, and the linearity and subtlety of Schiele’s work owe much to Klimt’s decorative elegance. Schiele, however, emphasized expression over decoration, heightening the emotive power of line with a feverish tension. He concentrated from the beginning on the human figure, and his candid, agitated treatment of erotic themes caused a sensation.

In 1909 he helped found the Neukunstgruppe (New Art Group) in Vienna. From 1911 onward he exhibited throughout Europe, and a special room was devoted to his work at a 1918 Sezessionist exhibit in Vienna, shortly before his death from Spanish influenza. Important works include “The Self Seer” (1911), “The Cardinal and Nun” (1912), and “Embrace” (1917). His landscapes exhibit the same febrile quality of color and line.

Cleanly Cuts Laminates, Melamines, and Non-Ferrous Metals
Achieving premium results when working with coarse flooring materials and non-ferrous metals is all about clean, accurate cuts. The Freud D1084L makes this process easy, fast, and precise. Plus, this expertly constructed blade boasts teeth with a TCG (triple-chip grind) design that slice easily through harsh flooring and non-ferrous metals without creating tear-out.
Contractors, construction workers, and avid do-it-yourselfers will want to keep this blade on hand for jobs that call for creating clean, no-chip cuts in coarse flooring and non-ferrous metals. Appropriate application materials include both single- and double-sided varieties of melamine and laminate, as well as non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, and brass.
Produces Smooth, Quiet Cuts with Laser-Cut Kerf
The Freud D1084L's clean-cutting design means that you can enjoy the comfort of smooth performance. The thin 0.98-inch kerf between the blade's 84 TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth is laser cut to provide ease of feed, so you have more control over the blade's position. The closely grouped teeth are ideal for cutting laminates without tear-outs. This helps maximize both the accuracy of the cut and the efficiency of your work, so you enjoy a job well done and the ability to complete more tasks in less time.
An added bonus, the blade's laser-cut stabilizer vents reduce noise and vibration during operation, keeping your work environment more relaxed and your hands more in control. This feature also reduces friction and warping, helping to extend the blade's cutting life.
Features Shock-Resistant Carbide for Long-Lasting Precision
So you can count on it over the long term, the Freud D1084L is designed for durability. The blade's hardy teeth are protected by Freud's exclusive shock-resistant TiCo Hi-Density Carbide formula, which helps fight wear and tear and maintains blade sharpness up to four times longer than standard carbide. And protecting the blade is Perma-Shield Non-Stick Coating that provides resistance to heat and corrosion.
Fits Circular Saws
The Freud D1084L is a great addition to your workshop because it's designed with the versatility to fit a variety of table and miter saws, including sliding miter saws. (It should not be used with chop-style miter saws.)
This product is covered by Freud's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
