The Preserved Field Flower- Earrings- Cynensemble

When I was living on that farm where I hung out with Suzie the pig I talked about before, I would also go into the back field and pick these super awesome purplish flowers that grew wild there. Haven't a clue what they were, but I sure loved them. Tried to dry them, we baked them, hair sprayed them, etc... but they would never preserve adequately for me. I'd have to wait for next year to get more.

Now that I create little flower earrings, these were a 'must-do.' They remind me of those beauties!

These little replicas show off a purplish-pinkish lucite flower base surrounded by a copper assortment. The bud is a 4mm yellow Swarovski crystal, and the stem is a 4mm olivine Swarovski crystal. Dangle from copper leverbacks.

Earrings measure 1 ? inches total length.

Parched

Walked 12 miles through Crystal Cove park - it is described in the guide books as being one of the most beautiful canyons in the area. Today it looked like parched desert, everywhere was dead and dried grass, reeds and flowers, with only a few shrubs and trees managing to hang on at the base of the canyons. Rainfall in Southern California has been very low this year with drought wide spread. I wake up today to hear that 12 wildfires are raging across the southern counties - if one spark hits this park it won't take long to burn with the Santa Ana wind to fan the flames.
