Boneless Buffalo Wings
Boneless Buffalo Wings—now there’s a concept I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around. Regular buffalo wings were hard enough for me to figure out; I mean, what possible use would such tiny wings be to such a giant animal as the buffalo? They certainly can’t fly with them; the wings are undoubtedly vestigial now. Maybe such tiny wings contributed to the buffalo's near-bout with extinction. And then there’s the bonelessness factor, which brings to mind Gary Larson’s classic Far Side cartoon, “Boneless Chicken Ranch.” But is it the buffaloes who are boneless, or just the wings? I can’t imagine a boneless buffalo; the buffalo couldn’t possibly support its own body mass. Of course, the other possibility is that both the buffalo and its wings might be boneless—picture that. Now I see that KFC has come out with a rival line of boneless buffalo wings. I see a real danger, though—thousands of boneless buffaloes suffering the sorry fate of all being de-winged.
