Miss Pent collected stamps, but not special stamps, just every day stamps. My mom would save a bunch of envelopes each week and I would run them next door for Miss Pent, along with a drawing or two and a bag of groceries. Sometimes she invited me in for an Archer chewy molasses cookie and she would show me her stamps or pepper me with questions. She wasn't so great with children or people really, but she intrigued me. No one really visited and I never knew much about her. When she died, they auctioned all of her possessions and it was the only time I toured the house. A new family with young children moved in soon thereafter. They're there still, thought their children are grown. However, they think the house is haunted by a benevolent presence. (she salvaged two of these, the other is in our bedroom) My dad re-painted them cream. This one used to be on a small storage "cupboard" in the WC room. It was almost useless, and instead was gathering little bits & bobs, and of course, Ms Dust. LOL I had a sudden idea of moving it to my little creative space, and make it all mine ! DONE !
