Today was OK if a little shadowed by the cold and koff of which I have had quite enough thank you. I stayed in bed until ten, and worked at home on a web site, which went suprisingly
quickly along. Some mods to do and they all seemed to work with little hassle.

Lunch with my dearly beloved Mrs T is quite an unusual thing in the week so we made the best of that before whizzing off to hair appointments and college. Once at college my laptop misbehaved and refused to connect, wasting much time. None of the other experts could make it go either, so I gave up on it in the end. It works brilliantly wirelessly everywhere but there....s&ds law!

Now at werk for a late call on a customer (7pm) and some system improvements for their 8am start. Worth the bother tho....

Stuck for a pic so I pulled up near the marshes in Bude and got 2 bad shots in, and at the top of Kings Hill at Thorne Farm where they appeared slightly better. A lovely vista for you - you cant see the rain which is an improvement on the reality! Ciao

Molly using Flash of camera

Molly using Flash of camera

Having a bit of a go at using off camera flash with my flash mounted on a stand connected to a wireless set-up with unbrellas.
This one was using my 420EX flash set up to the right of me. This is the best shot after a few not so good photos. I think my flash is basic and not sure if there is a way of adjusting the flash itself (oh I am such a newbie at this cause I not sure if you can) as I found that alot of photos were TOO bright so I just adjusted my settings on my camera. Dropped Ap down and shutter speed higher till I got a better result.

Molly is the most amazing addition to my family and I absolutly love her to bits. Such a amazing nature.

My desk is L-shaped and next to my bed. I have my T3, Nokia & bunch of remotes on my bedside table so that I can reach them whether I’m in bed or sitting at the desk. I have a TV and stereo on the opposite wall but they’re too boring to photograph. My DVD writer is there too for convenience and connected to the computer under my desk via Brando’s USB2-to-IDE cable I first read about on The Gadgeteer’s website (it became to inconvenient having to reach & feel for the eject button each time I wanted to use the drive). My computer itself is placed under the desk to decrease noise (it really does make a difference) and save desk space. The printer is there for the same reason. My wireless access point is to the left of Cable Hell, hidden from the camera’s angle, unfortunately. I have my cable tv box connected to my computer since most of the time, I’d be watching a show on my PC monitor while browsing the web or doing some work or whatever (it’s also connected to my real TV)… When I need to be mobile, I use my Fujitsu P1110 and TDK slim external writer & Creative TravelSound if necessary.

Because I'm Afraid To Use My Cell Phone Wireless Web (A handwritten post)

Because I'm Afraid To Use My Cell Phone Wireless Web (A handwritten post)

(Still haven't called AT&T Wireless... I'm going to have to sooner or later. No mobile updates unless it's from the laptop and AT&T Wi-Fi spots for now.)

Anyway, here's what I wrote down on pen and paper at work...

2-24-10 - 1046
The sun is trying to peek through...

They may try to take away my job,
They may try to take away my cell phone wireless web.
They may even try to take away my friends. (Even future friends.)
But... They cannot break my spirit,
Nor can they take away what makes me who I am....

When I'm completely broken down,
When everything I have is stripped away,
When I truly have nothing left to lose,
Then, there is nowhere to go but up.

I know I am stronger than I think I am.
Time passes on, people, places, and situations change.
Things happen which we may have little or no control over.

But every ending is merely the beginning of something else.
It could be similar, or it could be different.
Everyone and everything is in a constant state of evolution and change..
All we need to realize is that we only give up control over things if we choose to...

I choose to stand my ground, travel down that road, and see where it takes me.

My beacon will shine bright... It's my time to shine.

I will create my own singularity....

(It's happening even at this very moment...)

WIRELESS CONNECTION LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY : OR NO

Wireless connection limited or no connectivity : Connecting two computers wirelessly : Wireless b vs g vs n.

Wireless Connection Limited Or No Connectivity

wireless connection limited or no connectivity

    wireless connection
  • Wireless network refers to any type of computer network that is wireless, and is commonly associated with a telecommunications network whose interconnections between nodes are implemented without the use of wires.

  • (Wireless Connections) Medium is the Earth's atmosphere, or space, and the signals are microwaves.

  • a type of Internet access that does not require any wires or cables and allows users to browse the Internet while traveling or outside of their home or office without having a physical connection. Often a password is required to connect to a wireless network.

    connectivity
  • the property of being connected or the degree to which something has connections

  • The state or extent of being connected or interconnected

  • In mathematics and computer science, connectivity is one of the basic concepts of graph theory. It is closely related to the theory of network flow problems. The connectivity of a graph is an important measure of its robustness as a network.

  • Capacity for the interconnection of platforms, systems, and applications

  • Connectivity, in the context of computer science, refers to the use of computer networks to link computers to one another, and provide information resources between computer systems and their final users.

    limited
  • small in range or scope; "limited war"; "a limited success"; "a limited circle of friends"

  • (of a person) Not great in ability or talents

  • Restricted in size, amount, or extent; few, small, or short

  • (of a monarchy or government) Exercised under limitations of power prescribed by a constitution

  • express: public transport consisting of a fast train or bus that makes only a few scheduled stops; "he caught the express to New York"

  • circumscribed: subject to limits or subjected to limits

Zambia 1956 Making charcoal

Zambia 1956 Making charcoal

Logs are covered by an earth mound and then set on fire. Modern studies have been conducted into the effects of this age-old practice on the environment as recently, Zambia became the second most deforested country in the world after Indonesia. The deforestation rate is presently estimated at 900, 000 hectares per year. More of Zambia's forests are likely to be cut down for charcoal after the country's energy watchdog allowed national energy company Zesco to hike electricity prices for domestic consumers by around 40 percent in August 2010.

Major energy used in Zambia is electricity generated from Kariba Dam, one of the biggest man made lakes in Africa. Access to electricity is only to 20% of the population due to no connectivity to the national electricity grid line. Because of this, people use biomass energy, such as, firewood and charcoal for cooking and candles/paraffin for lighting. Charcoal is used mostly in urban areas while firewood is used in rural areas.

About three big trees could make one 90kg bag of charcoal which can be used by an average family of 6 in two weeks. Most of the trees are cut illegally. The charcoal makers do not replant
trees when they cut them. The tree cutter do not discriminate, they cut all good trees they can find. The result is that the forest loses its biodiversity and communities lose a lot of good
things that they benefit from the forest.

The vet gave him antibiotics and said he would be fine. About 4 hrs later, Sam was found dead on the bathroom floor. Thanks to all about your prior concerns and in advance for your words of care. • A desktop computer is a personal computer (PC) in a form intended for regular use at a single location, as opposed to a mobile laptop or portable computer. Prior to the widespread use of microprocessors, a computer that could fit on a desk was considered remarkably small.

  • (Desktop Computers) are - as their name suggests - computer systems which are designed to be put and used on a desk, or at least a single location (i.e. they are not designed to be portable). Whilst this might sound simple, when computers were first designed they were the size of a small room!

We usually work on the dining table. My computer is the Powerbook, my girlfriend's is the 12" iBook. Our friend owns that 14" iBook. They have names too: (L-R) Ivy, Chips, and Phoebe.

Basically no wires (except when the battery power runs low). Wireless internet access is graciously provided by our neighbor upstairs. Printing on paper is done in school (I teach middle school kids). I use Sidetrack so that got rid of the mouse. The Powerbook's speakers is good enough for DVD watching (and MAME games). BluePhoneMenu handles my SMS and calls. The MissingSync allows me to hotsync through Bluetooth for my Clie TH55/E in my pocket. Music is of course via iTunes (and I WILL get an Airport Express soon). Pictures are handled by iPhoto. The only clutter exists in my Desktop, as you can still faintly see.

Hyper-connected Christmas Eve

Hyper-connected Christmas Eve

A great tradition of our family is to gather at the kitchen table after Christmas Eve festivities and drink hot chocolate. As we did so this year, we realized that we were all connected to the Internet, checking Facebook, Twitter and blogs on a variety of devices. Not shown in this photo are my iPhone and the desktop computer on the kitchen desk.

With apologies to Holly for a very unflattering photo!

Wireless Router To Wired Router

    wireless router
  • A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router but also includes the functions of a wireless access point. It is commonly used to allow access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection.

  • A networking device that is a combination of an access point and a router.  These devices are usually used in private homes where client PCs can be anywhere in the house (and thus use WiFi to connect), and the network is a broadband connection provided by an ISP.

  • Wireless routers are actually routers with Ethernet plus wireless access points so that they have both wired and/or wireless at the same time.

    wired
  • equipped with wire or wires especially for electric or telephone service; "a well-wired house"

  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Making use of computers and information technology to transfer or receive information, esp. by means of the Internet

  • tied or bound with wire; "wired bundles of newspapers"

  • In a nervous, tense, or edgy state

  • pumped-up(a): tense with excitement and enthusiasm as from a rush of adrenaline; "we were really pumped up for the race"; "he was so pumped he couldn't sleep"

Tail of a failed router 71/365

When our wireless router died Wednesday night, this direct cable connection
is what we had to turn to. What a pain. Good thing for the tape or I'd probably have killed myself by now.

And good thing I'm not Martha Stewart!

My husband is pretty sure it's fixed now but is waiting to see if the system is stable before dismantling the hard wire. 3/5

3/365: BAD Wireless Router!! BAD!!

Less than 6 months old and it lost the ability to connect to the internet both wirelessly AND wired. I had to bypass it and go straight to the desktop for connectivity.

Reflected is the Lynksys support page for my specific router.

Remark: The Dodge Institute of Telegraphy was initially established as a department of the Northern Indiana Normal School in 1874 by G. A. Dodge. At that time, Dodge was employed as telegrapher of the Pittsburg, Fort Wayne & Chicago Railroad and saw opportunity in better educating future telegraphers. Reorganized by Dodge and F. R. Lunbeck in 1891, the school flourished and became the largest telegraph and railway instruction institution in the United States. As radio entered the scene, training in "wireless" communication was added to the curriculum of the institute. Dr. J. B. Hershman purchased the Dodge Institute in 1939 and moved the campus to the site formerly occupied by Pitkin-Brooks and L. E. Myers companies at Center Street and West Lincolnway. Following World War II, the Dodge Institute was renamed the Valparaiso Technical Institute. Valparaiso Technical Institute went defunct in April of 1991, ending 117 years of operation.
