Beef liver.

Beef liver.

Judah won't touch the stuff, Israel slurps it right up. I had my dad get 3 lbs of beef liver at the store (thank goodness we used to live in a Mexican neighborhood! they have cow tongue, cow legs, spleen, heart, liver...) because I got a food dehydrator on sale (Ronco!) so I can make my own beef liver treats. No Snausages here. I mean, *I* would even eat Snausages. I did taste the Puperoni's before and it was very sweet/salty and basically food coloring and flour. For one little bag of Snausages I can get 3 lbs of beef liver and the liver is actually GOOD for the dogs.
As you can tell, I have REALLY changed my idea of what dogs are. They are carnivores, they are .02% away from wolves by DNA (ALL dogs, from the Chihuahua to the Great Dane), and I feel guilty for ever feeding Judah kibble (aka "death pellets".) It's frustrating and sad that veterinarians will deny raw meat and bones (whole prey) as the correct diet for domestic dogs (wolves!) and cats (and ferrets) down to their last dying breath. What's worse is that it's all about money.
Feeding raw just. makes. sense. It's no longer "weird" or "awkward" handing my dog a piece of chicken or pork. It's natural and watching them crush bone and tear through skin and muscle is much more satisfying than watching them hack and choke on kibble.
So anyway....
This is a piece of sliced liver (it smells as great as it looks) that basically looks and feels like a giant blood clot. Isn't it so yummy and appetizing?
A 14 oz bucket of dehydrated liver (ONLY liver) at the pet store is $20. Uh...no thanks.

Royal Liver Building

Royal Liver Building

Opened in 1911, the building is the purpose-built home of the Royal Liver Assurance group, which had been set up in the city in 1850 to provide locals with assistance related to losing a wage-earning relative. One of the first buildings in the world to be built using reinforced concrete, the Royal Liver Building stands at 90 m tall and was, until the construction of St John's Beacon in 1965, the tallest building in the city.

Today the Royal Liver Building is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city of Liverpool and is home to two fabled Liver Birds that watch over the city and the sea. Legend has it that were these two birds to fly away, then the city would cease to exist.
