Lowepro CompuDaypack Camera Bag (Slate)
Perfect for around campus or around town, the CompuDaypack is a lightweight yet spacious backpack. Its triple compartment design neatly manages the key components of digital photography with a rear compartment for a notebook computer (fits most 17 models) and files, and a lower compartment that accommodates a digital SLR with lens attached (up to a 105mm f/2.8), plus 2-3 additional lenses or flash units. The upper compartment holds personal accessories and cables. Tuck an MP3 player into the quick access front pocket, thread the headphones through the unique headphone port and listen to your favorite music even on the go.
Lowepro Toploader 70 AW vs S&F Toploader 75 AW
I wanted a bag that could fit my 40D with grip and a 70-200 attached. The Lowepro toploader series would fit my purpose. I decided upon the older non pro versions because I could get them cheap and the 'pro' series has it's flap opening to the side instead of to the front.
I did not know whether the 70 AW or the 75 AW would fit my needs so I ordered both. (€40 a piece incl shipping)
Both the 70 and 75 models fit the 70-200 with the hood reversed. The 75 model even allows the use of a 1.4 TC (I don't have the 2x so I did not test that.
To my surprise, there are three editions of the Toploader series. The latest 'pro' version, the slightly older 'non pro' series (left) and the 'S&F' series.(right). The left ome was never used by the previous owner and the right one has seen good use hence the slight colour differences. . Basically the bags are the same design, but the right bag has the old Lowepro logo and the zipper on the inside of the lid is not protected from scratching the camera. A couple of buckles are located differently and it carries the 'S&F' in the name. According to unverified sources, the S&F 75 version is slightly smaller than the later 75 version.
If you want the front opening lid, make sure you get the non S&F version of this bag.
I have spent so long trying to walk in the countryside with a regular backpack and a big camera bag hanging from my side - and more recently two camera bags due to using the Supersampler and the Holga as well that I finally snapped and decided to find something that woundn't hinder walking.
This is a Lowepro Photo Trekker AW which was amazingly cheap and found by chance in one of Nottingham's camera shops - I was shocked when I found out how much these things cost new.
It certainly made walking and carrying all of this stuff far easier than what I was doing before.
