MICROWAVES WAVELENGTH RANGE - MICROWAVES WAVELENGTH

Microwaves wavelength range - Ge microwave fires.

Microwaves Wavelength Range

microwaves wavelength range

    microwaves
  • An electromagnetic wave with a wavelength in the range 0.001–0.3 m, shorter than that of a normal radio wave but longer than those of infrared radiation. Microwaves are used in radar, in communications, and for heating in microwave ovens and in various industrial processes

  • (microwave) cook or heat in a microwave oven; "You can microwave the leftovers"

  • (microwave) a short electromagnetic wave (longer than infrared but shorter than radio waves); used for radar and microwave ovens and for transmitting telephone, facsimile, video and data

  • (microwave) kitchen appliance that cooks food by passing an electromagnetic wave through it; heat results from the absorption of energy by the water molecules in the food

    wavelength
  • This distance as a distinctive feature of radio waves from a transmitter

  • the distance (measured in the direction of propagation) between two points in the same phase in consecutive cycles of a wave

  • A person's ideas and way of thinking, esp. as it affects their ability to communicate with others

  • a shared orientation leading to mutual understanding; "they are on the same wavelength"

  • In physics, the wavelength of a sinusoidal wave is the spatial period of the wave – the distance over which the wave's shape repeats.

  • The distance between successive crests of a wave, esp. points in a sound wave or electromagnetic wave

    range
  • The scope of a person's knowledge or abilities

  • scope: an area in which something acts or operates or has power or control: "the range of a supersonic jet"; "a piano has a greater range than the human voice"; "the ambit of municipal legislation"; "within the compass of this article"; "within the scope of an investigation"; "outside the reach

  • roll: move about aimlessly or without any destination, often in search of food or employment; "The gypsies roamed the woods"; "roving vagabonds"; "the wandering Jew"; "The cattle roam across the prairie"; "the laborers drift from one town to the next"; "They rolled from town to town"

  • The area of variation between upper and lower limits on a particular scale

  • A set of different things of the same general type

  • change or be different within limits; "Estimates for the losses in the earthquake range as high as $2 billion"; "Interest rates run from 5 to 10 percent"; "The instruments ranged from tuba to cymbals"; "My students range from very bright to dull"

microwaves wavelength range - Rechargeable ultraviolet

Rechargeable ultraviolet lamp; 365 nm wavelength, 115 VAC/60 Hz

Rechargeable ultraviolet lamp; 365 nm wavelength, 115 VAC/60 Hz

Choose from single- or dual-wavelength lamps; all include 6-watt tube(s). Single wavelength lamps let you use both tubes simultaneously to achieve intensities twice as high as similar units. Dual-wavelength lamps let you choose from either 254 or 365 nm light. Rechargeable ultraviolet lamps are powered by the built-in rechargeable battery or included AC/recharger adapter (60 Hz for 115 VAC; 50 Hz for 230 VAC). The optional cigarette lighter adapter (sold separately at right) lets you operate UV lamps on a 12 VDC power source. The dual-wavelength models require one replacement tube for each wavelength. Lamps measure 3"W x 9-3/4"H x 5-1/2"D. Shpg wt 4.0 lb (1.9 kg).

Mimosa (pudica) - 1

Mimosa (pudica) - 1

This 1 cm flower is from a 'sensetive plant' genus mimosa & having about 400 species. The pudica wildly grows here in Bengal, called 'Lajjabati',
literally meaning a shy female, because on touch the leaves are folded.

Sir J.C.Bose,the great Indian Scientist, worked on this plant to prove that the plant has life. He presented the paper at the Royal Society, London. He claimed that plants can "feel pain, understand affection etc.," from the analysis of the nature of variation of the cell membrane potential of plants, under different circumstances.

His other interest was 'Radio' & 'Radiowave'.
In November 1894 (or in 1895 ) in a public demonstration in Kolkata, Bose ignited gunpowder and rang a bell at a distance using millimetre range wavelength microwaves. The 1895 public demonstration by Bose in Kolkata was before Marconi's wireless signalling experiment on Salisbury Plain in England in May 1897.

But he never cared & refuses to get patent ( save only one and thus the first Indian to get US patent.)
One of Bose's American friends, Sara Chapman Bull, succeeded in persuading him to file a patent application for "detector for electrical disturbances".
It was granted on 29 March 1904 as US patent 755840

He was the first to use a semiconductor junction to detect radio waves, and he invented various now commonplace microwave components.

Neville Francis Mott, Nobel Laureate in 1977 for his own contributions to solid-state electronics, remarked that "J.C. Bose was at least 60 years ahead of his time" and "In fact, he had anticipated the existence of P-type and N-type semiconductors."

Samsung Zipel Ceramic Oven to Realize Korean “Traditional Savor"

Samsung Zipel Ceramic Oven to Realize Korean “Traditional Savor

Samsung is to launch the Zipel Ceramic Oven, state-of-the-art oven line-up which can serve as one to offer "traditional taste" and equip itself with a range of "smart" functions including recipe guide (with voice) and calorie calculator, and etc.

Samsung Electronics, known for its industry leading technology, has introduced another Zipel series well tailored to 'taste-savvy' consumers who are akin to realizing Korean traditional savor.

One of the secret to this extraordinary oven is the ceramic heater, technology to release far-infrared radiation directly through ceramic cooking section and plates inside. The combination of all available heat is also integral parts of this outstanding technology: far-infrared radiation with longer wavelength; microwave with shorter wavelength like one used in micro-oven; and heat wave and steam functions.
