I should have known to not brag earlier about how easy it is to do things with Evan and how he's a good traveler.
He spilled an entire cup of Sprite all over himself 40 minutes before our flight. No kids clothes were to be found; there wasn't even an air dryer in the restroom. The soaking clothes (and underwear) didn't seem to bother Evan, but I kept thinking about how gross it feels to wear damp clothes.
Then I got the middle seat in the second-to-last row on the completely full plane between Soggy Boy and a guy with the grossest garlic breath. It wasn't even his breath; it was almost coming out of his pores. Do you know the smell? Yuck.
We get to LaGuardia and get into a cab with fingernail clippings, a cigarette butt, and a random pill in the cup holder.
Thankfully, our hotel is nice and we had a good dinner.
I Win The Alamo
Thanks to my APPROPRIATE SHIRT.
We had to head to the airport after this and didn't have time for the tour. Next time, Texas?
I didn't get any pictures, but the nighttime approach into New York City was tremendous. We flew over Brooklyn and Queens, Manhattan out my window, and circled around the giant globe on the old World Fair grounds during our landing at LaGuardia.
All in all, our sojourn to San Antonio was flawless and fun. Unexpectedly, it made me realize that my memories of Texas were pretty much ALL happy ones. I had a great time growing up here, aside from the occasional theft of my Mickey Mouse underwear. (I was seven, it was daycare.)
I never saw myself as being well-suited towards Texas, but now I wonder....
