If you have a SLR or DSLR camera and other maker/mount lenses, the Fotodiox Mount Adapters allow you to use your lenses on the film/digital camera body. Sharing lenses has some distinct advantages. The Minolta SR-1s is the "speedy" version of the SR-1, which has shutters speeds from 1s to 1/500s plus bulb... the "s" variant adds 1/1000s. Production of this model began in 1967. The SR-1s is a fully manual, mechanical camera that has the option to add an external light meter that couples to the chosen shutter speed. It then reports the aperture that you should use, and the user then sets the aperture on the lens manually. This camera also features mirror-lockup via the dial on the side of the lens mount, a very rare feature on SLR cameras in those days. It is requried to lock-up the mirror before putting on the 21mm wide-angle lens, as the rear elements extend deep into the body. An auxilliary viewfinder was provided with that lens. On the topic of lenses, it is interesting to note that the front element on the 55mm f/2 lens is significantly larger than that of a 50mm f/1.8 lens, even tho mathematically they can be nearly identical in size.

A lovely lens which unfortunately cannot be easily adapted for use on an EOS camera, though in theory it might be possible to use it with the Olympus DSLR system, if anyone has started making a suitable adapter yet.
