Better pics taken last Saturday, using sunlight, instead of incandescent lamps (my previous pics, now deleted) which produced a sickly-yellow effect.

In case you didn't read the caption for this clock in the earlier photo: yep the wood, 1/4" birch plywood in this case, used for this project wasn't exactly high quality ($8 for a 2ft x 4ft sheet), so there are ripples and other artifacts visible. But this was a "learning project" so not a huge problem (next time: good walnut or maple).

Btw the "picture frame" next to Homer is actually an Oregon Scientific wireless weather station. Displays inside & outside temperature and humidity; has barometer with numerical readout & a graphic 24 hour forecaster; and an atomic clock with moon phase display.

We've been teaching Paige sign language since she was just a few months old. We're really happy we did as compared to other children it seems to have given her a real feeling of confidence and security. One of her favorite signs (and treats) is "cookie". Paige is also really good about sharing and will insistently put something she's eating up to your mouth to see if you're interested - as evident by the chocolate chip marks around my mouth.
