Ram 392 Quick Silver The Ram 392 Quick Silver began life as a 2011 Ram R/T. A 470 horsepower, 392 HEMI V-8 from the SRT lineup was dropped in and mated to the R/Ts 4.10 gear set and a high-stall converter. For additional performance, the Ram 392 is equipped with a cold-air intake kit and headers featuring an electronic exhaust cutout for maximum power and sound at the track. For normal driving, a cat-back dual exhaust system intensifies the HEMI rumble. To improve braking performance, discs and calipers are replaced with a Brembo big brake kit, featuring 15-inch vented rotors and bright silver six-piston calipers in the front and rear. With the exception of a gloss black roof, the body is finished in a three-stage bright silver while the wheels, grille inserts, mirrors and select interior trim components are coated in anodized red paint. A Mopar Underground, reverse deep-cowl aluminum hood design with functional heat extractors is inspired by the new Dodge Charger SRT8 and smoked lenses cover all exterior lighting. The Ram 392 Quick Silver is lowered 2 inches with the help of a custom suspension kit. The slammed look is made more evident by a Mopar body kit, consisting of sill and box pieces, finished up with a chin spoiler. Mopar Underground added their 22-inch wheels wrapped in 275/45R22 tires up front and 305/40R22 tires in the rear. A Mopar hard tonneau cover with a unique integrated spoiler redirects the air for additional down force at high speeds and Mopars Bed Rug protects the paint. The interior features high-bolster SRT seats covered in Katzkin leather with red stitching and accents to match the steering wheel, instrument panel and Laramie Longhorn inspired leather shift knob, door panels and center console trim. A set of Mopar Pedals and door sills are installed giving the interior an additional splash of functional aesthetics. Music is blasted through Kicker speakers, including tweeters in the instrument panel, mids in the doors and in the back, and woofers in the doors leaving plenty of room for gear behind the seats. Simply put, the Ram 392 Quick Silver is designed to be a truck that would appropriately share a garage with a Dodge Viper. savior with his pals Now that I am working in rural southwestern Missouri, I am experiencing some of the things that come with the lifestyle of this area. For instance, I now do most of my shopping at the Wal-Mart Super Center either in Nixa or Branson West. I have been to Wal-Mart more times in the last month than in all my previous years. Today I went in to Nixa for some supplies on what was a cold and rainy day. When I returned to my jobsite on Reno Springs Road, I spotted a dog laying in the ditch just up from the driveway. I thought it had been hit, so i parked in the driveway and walked back up to see what the problem was. I was afraid that I would find a badly injured dog, but instead, I found this male sitting protectively by two small black puppies who were huddled and shivering in the weeds behind him. The older dog was wearing a collar. Had he just happened upon these abandoned pups, or was he dumped with them? I went back and got my truck and pulled up to the three of them. I loaded the pups in the back and then picked up the larger dog and boosted him up. He was limping a little, but seemed ok. I took them back to the house owned by my friends Phil and Jane, and put them in the milk barn behind the house. I decided that since I had picked them up, I was going to have to feed them and give them some beds. So, back to Wal-Mart. Twice in one day. I picked up food, water and food bowls, a little bed for the pups and a rug for their protector. They were really happy to get the food and water and to be in out of the rain. They now have names. I have named the big guy "Savior" since he seems to be protecting the pups that were left in his charge. The little guys are "Pepe" on the left in the crate, and "Paulo". Now what do I do? I've had a great four days visiting picturesque river towns along the St. Clair River between Port Huron, MI and Algonac, MI. I also spent a full day with one of my Flickr friends exploring Grand Rapids, MI for most of an afternoon and evening. I have so many photos to post it isn't funny! But I've got three more friends to visit in Port Huron today that I can't wait to see before I return home, and then I'll upload everything. Michigan is a beautiful state with very friendly folks! Oh, btw, I'm standing along the banks of the St. Clair River in Marine City, MI. Canada's behind me. You're at the window now, he felt your presence, your unease, those remorseful brown eyes burning on his back as he left the road and crossed over into the lush woodlands. He walks to lessen the feeling of anger that wells deep within him like a volcano about to burst it's banks and spew down across the landscape of happiness and love that dwelt below it. He is selfish, arrogant, headstrong at times with a stubborn streak that could span the Grand Canyon itself, and he has wronged you. Shallow words, ill conceived, not thought out with calmness and rationality, a mouth that has the propensity to spout before the brain has engaged, a weakness, a flaw in his character, you suppose. And he knows it to. He walks to ease his self loathing and embarrassment, for he knows within his heart of blackened heart that he doesn't deserve your love and never has. Headstrong, overbearing, demonstrative and fragile, he is the precocious child that nobody cared for, he is the victim of his own foolishness. He is the bastard genes of his odious father. He is dumb. There, he has said it now. And now his anger softens, his pulse slows and his feet come to a halt by a mildew covered wooden bench seat where you and he have sat so often over these past years. How does he find the words to say that he is sorry again? And why do you care? What do you see in him that is not masked by this temperament of his, the Jackyl and Hyde within the facade? Your gentle face and loving smile, those sparkling eyes that always give forgiveness long before your lips confirm are his salvation. He walks because this is his therapy and anger management. Here he realizes his own demons, and faces his mistakes, he stands head to head with his weaknesses and pitfalls. An ugly soul amidst the beauty of Mother nature's treasures, a worthless man before the honesty and purity of your love. He walks because he knows he is at fault, to blame again, as always, this dumb head, these feeble limbs, this fractured heart that at times seems incapable of allowing you in, past his defences, past the barriers that he has built. He walks because he cannot run, he cannot hide from the reality of the man he has become. You will open the door, holding back the tears that have cascaded down across your gentle cheeks, his bloody fists, your bruises of the heart and flesh, with every one a candle snuffed within the brightness of your soul. You will smile and beckon him once more inside, begging his forgiveness, as you always do. He walks to ease his conscience and to give you time to paint your pretty face, to cover the damage, to conceal the scars, to erase all trace of what physical pain he has just caused you, though pain of the emotional kind lives on within you, reminding you of your place and manners. You will clean his wounds and caress his hands so gently as you tell him you are sorry. I first saw this grocery store in fall 1994, and was newly working in the "Northland" area. I popped in here for lunch one day. Later, it was my main grocery store, when I moved downtown from the Kansas side, as it is about the closest food store to downtown. I once rented a carpet shampoo machine here. Several years ago it closed. After being empty for a long time, a developer cut openings in the long, west facing side, and placed an O'Reilly Auto Parts store, and several other retail storefronts. 2nd Floor = Not for Haters It really seemed like the second floor was where they tossed all the leftovers after the first floor filled up. Though there were a few concept cars, they were so far out to the point of being completely irrelevant. The displays were cheapif there were displays at all; the GM side of the floor was just a bunch of dealer lot cars parked on the carpet. To be fair, Ford had some decent displays but still nothing that really caught my eye. MVI_6750 1973 Gran Torino, sport One i bought beacuse it was cheap. some times you can't turn one down. I had another one like it that i loved but I havn't put this one on the road much. has 351C engine, auto trans ps,pb and ac , it had a bad trans. and no ac when i got it but i replaced it and also some of the ac. It has no serious rust. It is original except for the carpet, seat covers and trans. it really just needs tires, paint and a good front bumper to be a good car. Scared--and Smart--Dog Here is Chloence being scared--and smart!-- during what I think she interpreted as a thunder/lightning storm. I mean it may have been such a storm but I could not tell. I didn't have my hearing aids in so I couldn't hear and I saw no lightning but there was a storm, true enough, and thunder and lightning make her tremble and huddle . . and head for the rubber-based rugs in the house. Now think about this for a moment . . . Before she planted herself in this pose, she had been on the bed with me about to take a nap. Instead of choosing to stay with me and snuggle under the covers out of harm's way, she sat up, trembled a bit (vibrated is more like it) and then jumped off the bed. I went to find her and this is what I expected because this is what she does every time. The part to think about is that we all know rubber (or some means of grounding) is essential when it comes to electrical safety. They say being in a car with its four tires is a really safe place during a lightning storm. But how would a dog know to head for a rubberized bath mat? And why would she turn it over to lay directly on the rubber part? Could she have programmed into her DNA that when XYZ happens then she should search for ABC surfaces? I mean she would not have words which is why I replaced the words "lightning" and "rubberized" with XYZ and ABC. It can be hard to understand thoughts without the conveyor belt provided by words but if you consider the cognitive experience of fear, you would probably agree that it isn't just an emotional state but a state that is informed or produced by a rather immediate and sudden intake of data that spells DANGER, in not so many letters. We do not say, "I will now be afraid." We simply are afraid and experience the flood of thoughts (of which I would contend feelings are a category) resultant from that fear. This must be what creatures who can't speak our languages are doing routinely: thinking without words. Our experience of the fight or flight response is often described by us using phrases like "before I could even think..." and what we really mean is "before I could put it into words..." And what is a photograph but an immediate impression on the mind without words? Surely, we can label the elements in a photograph, but then we'd be "taking the picture apart", reducing it to its parts which, when as a whole, are more. Somewhere in here is that old but abiding idea/question of "how complex does something have to be before it becomes more than the sum of its parts?". The emergence of life from primordial slime is described as being a sort of ultimate example of the right stuff in the right place at the right time under the right conditions. A complexity adequate to produce something the result of which is entirely different from its components. As an aside, this, in part, is also a little bit of the theme behind Tron. So I am totally prepared to accept that Chloe is much more complex than we can imagine and has tons of things "programmed" into her, things she just Knows to do but from our perspective would appear to require an understanding which we then, using our typical circular reasoning, conclude means that she (and others like her) could not possibly "know" THAT, whatever the THAT is at the moment. A dog could not possibly know best ways of staying safe from lightning, right? They only had to live bared under the elements much more than we ever did so why would anyone think dogs know anything about our natural environment? I think it is the understanding part that is not required (Chloe does not understand about electrical safety) but in our anthropomorphic bent we insist that understanding is a requirement of Knowing. But animals show us every day that this isn't the case. They show us knowing without understanding. I think babies show us every day that knowing is independent of understanding. I think understanding is what requires words. Francis Bacon anyone? A corollary musing is that I have gradually come to think it matters less and less that we find the right words to express ourselves. Which happens to be nicely adaptive for me right now. Photographically, I took a lot of shots (she wasn't going anywhere) and tried some exposed for her face. I knew this would blow out the white parts of the frame and I really like how it turned out with a sort of warm glow to it but you can see her little eyes as though she is worrying and waiting. 365.174: Rug After much hemming and hawing, I finally managed to choose a rug for the living room and a rug for the office - nothing too overwhelming, just something to absorb some sound, make it a bit more cozy, and "pull the room together", of course. I'm quite pleased with how the rugs look, and Jeremy really likes them too. Success! I made this rug from 7 pairs of recycled corduroy pants (originally just 4, but it was too small, so I added 3 pants' worth more which luckily turned out to look like an "intentional" border, ha!) I see at least 6 big mistakes in this rug, but that's OK--it was unbelievably fun, I learned so many things, and now we have a lovely squooshy soft rug!
