Though I couldn't get a point of the above quote, I thought it says an interesting way to "experience" bagels :-)
It is cheaper to buy 6 individual bagels than a 1/2 dozen.
I asked why it was cheaper to buy individual bagels than a 1/2 dozen. I did not get an answer. I think the "regulars" that were behind me getting coffee were getting irritated by my questions. The up side was that I got the 1/2 dozen for $6, no tax or they overcharged me by .01.
