I'll try to keep everyone updated on here. This is how it all started. On Friday the 6th Caitlin came home from daycare with goopy eyes and a fever. I called the nurseline and was given a for eyedrops. Saturday she seemed better. On Sunday evening she developed a fever and we could tell she was getting sick. She started refusing to eat solid foods, having diarrhea, sometimes with blood in it, in addition to the cough and cold she had for the past week. She also started throwing up, sometimes provoked from coughing too hard. I took her to the doctor on Monday the 9th. Her eyes, ears, lungs all seemed ok, but due to the blood in her diarrhea the doctor wanted to test a stool sample. I brought the stool sample to the lab on Tuesday the 10th. She spent Wednesday the 11th with my mom so I could go back to work. She wouldn't drink much milk or water and didn't eat much solid food. Her fever was also high again. The doctor was concerned about dehydration and wanted to see her again so we got her there in the afternoon. She told us Caitlin seemed ok for now, but if she continued to not eat or drink we would maybe have to do an IV to get fluids in her. On Wednesday night my mom and I were able to use a syringe to force her to drink Pedialyte and I was able to breastfeed her. On Thursday the 12th we got the results from the stool sample back and found out she had salmonella. There are two types of this and they sent her culture to the Department of Health to determine which type she has. One type is not treated unless the baby is less than 3 months old, if the person is really, really sick and the immune system won't be able to fight it off, or if it is in the bloodstream. The other type is always treated. The Department of Health is closed on the weekend so unfortunately we won't know which type she has until Tuesday (annoying!). However, since Caitlin has been having fevers since Sunday the doctor wanted to make sure it hadn't gotten in to her bloodstream. If it had, she would be treated right away. The blood draw was done on Thursday the 12th. On Friday the 13th Kyle stayed home with Caitlin. The doctor called him in the morning to say it was in her blood and we needed to bring her to the hospital.

Umur Rafiqh 4months 2weeks, dia dah mula diberi solid foods. Banyak punca kegagalan, the main reason ialah sebab my mom yang nak sangat cucunya diberi makan. Kang ingkar kang, jadi anak derhaka la pulak, OMG! Selain tu, banyak lagi sebab2 yang membawa kepada kegagalan misi, hehe.
Antaranya:
- Rafiqh dah tunjuk minat untuk makan sejak dia 2bulan ++ gitu, tapi sejak kebelakangan ni dia jadi terlalu minat pada makanan hinggakan dia boleh tau beri "aksi nak makan" dengan hanya terbau makanan, walaupun tanpa melihatnya! Minatnya KETERLALUAN! hahaha
- Dia juga akan mengamuk sakan bila ayah dan mama makan, dengki sungguh tengok orang makan.
- Beberapa minggu kebelakangan ni, dia asyik menjerit2 dan mengamuk tak tentu pasal. My mom kata mungkin dia tak kenyang dengan hanya susu walaupun hakikatnya my breast masih produce susu dengan baik. Betul ker baby tak kenyang ek?? ermmm ????!(ntah)

Tapi sebab UTAMA tu sebab arahan mak laa kan. Actually we have consulted the paed about this when we went for 3months check up. The paed allowed us to feed him solid foods but I really want to wait till he is 6months.
I discussed with myLove, searched in internet about pros and cons, at last we decided to give a try. Buat eksperimen dulu, kalau Rafiqh bagi good respon and he really want to eat, teruskan bagi makan. If not, stop! I hope he will refused to eat, hehehe...
In the first try, he really eat, lol! He looked happy and enjoyed his foods. So, we decided to continue feeding him. Sejak tu, dia dah tak cranky sangat, kebetulan laa tu kot, hehe...
I will write about his solid foods later ok.

Rafiqh, please forgive mama. I failed to bf you exclusively for 6months. But, I promise I will try my best to bf you till you are 2 years old... May Allah help us, bless us...

Part of my being gone had to do with my period going haywire and me
thinking I was pregnant, twice, and getting really depressed when it
turned out that I wasn't. It made me want to retreat from everything.
When we were first married, I knew I wasn't ready for a baby and was
constantly terrified that I was pregnant. We spent tons of money on
preg tests, but all were negative. I had been trying to find some BC
method that suited me, but I hate extra chemicals and hormones, and
with the history of fibroid tumors in my family, I wasn't comfortable
with any of the options I could find, so I had not used any form of
BC. I had heard of the Rhythm Method as the only "natural" option, but
that it is very unreliable. Around six months ago, my attitude changed
and I started to -want- a baby. When I again thought I was pregnant
three months into that time, I was happy, only to waste more money on
preg tests and be disappointed. Again recently, I thought I was
pregnant and was delighted, but decided to wait a whole month before
buying a test, to ward off expensive disappointment. Bought the test,
which turned up negative again. I was crushed. I was terrified that I
might be infertile. We want kids very badly. We'd love to adopt, as
well, but...to go through the process of pregnancy and birth is
something amazing that I want to experience for myself. (This is not
to say I am looking forward to labor, but I -am- looking forward to
being a mother.) Anyway, part of my wanting to have a baby -right now-
was the fear that I might not be able to have kids at all. In all
honestly, I would love to wait until we have a home big enough for
kids and I am back down to a healthier weight; I've just been so
scared that there's something wrong with me that I ignored those
things. I'd rather have a baby now than not at all.
Knowing about my unpredictable periods and disappointment in not
getting pregnant, two different friends suggested a book to me called
Taking Charge of your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. I checked it out of
the library and have spent most of the morning reading it. I'm not
even halfway through it yet, but it makes so much -sense-!
Basically, it explains FAM (Fertility Awareness Method). By paying
attention to and charting three things; your temperature every
morning, the consistency of your cervical fluids (I had noticed that
this changes throughout the month, but I never really paid attention
to -when- it changes), and the position of your cervix (this is a
slightly more difficult and optional third step), you can know
-exactly- when you are fertile, when your period is coming, and when
you have gotten pregnant.
The book also explains that a lot of the time a couple thinks they are
infertile because they are planning sex on a 28 day cycle (based in
the Rhythm method), when a lot of women have different length cycles.
It says a couple can have sex twice a week for a year and not get
pregnant simply because they are mistiming the fertile days. I felt so
incredibly relieved to read that.The charts for FAM seem a little
confusing at first, but I think I can figure it out. I'm going to
start using this method and wait to try to get pregnant. Now that I
know how to time it right, I feel like the pressure is off and we can
wait until we're more prepared.
Even if you're doing other stuff for birth control, I would suggest
reading this book just to understand your own body better. It's
helping me so much and relieving a -ton- of stress! [I'm sorry that
this is so long, but this it a -huge- thing for me!]

Bubby wants me to tell you how much he likes his bathrobe, he still insists it is a coat though. Thank you so much for it and it surely comes in handy this cold weather. He is fine now and hope he stays that way for a long time. He talks all the time and says quite long sentences. We took him for a ride today and went to the airport in Santa Maria, and he saw the airplanes and had a big time and he and I played Boo! with the handkerchief all the way home from Pismo and he laughed and laughed.

Edison is studying now, but he has to go to Los Angeles and get some glasses whenever he can get off for a day or so, as his eyes burn whenever he reads. Dr. Marshall has been away for a week and just returned tonight.

Edison has an old lady, 90 years old with a broken leg and he has been busy with her this week, she is better now though.

I am feeling better, but don't seem to get my strength back like I did when Bubby came, but guess I will have to be patient for awhile, though it is hard to do. Mrs. Larue has been very good, but she is gone now, and though I get along all right with the work, it is very lonesome here all day, but I do not mention this to anyone else, only as you probably know how that is, but I can't bear to talk about it with anyone else. I was going home this week, but I can't go yet as I don't want anyone to see me like this, even Edison doesn't know how I feel. My folks would only worry and would insist I come home and I have to get used to this some time, and I've never minded staying alone before, and so if I stay with it, it surely will go away after a while. Bubbie is so sweet and good and I have so many things to be thankful for that of course, I must think of those things instead of that awful night. Edison has been so wonderful to me and I never knew what real love was until trouble came.

I hope I can be a much better wife and mother now. Please forgive me for all the things I've said and done that have hurt you in the past. I never meant them and I do not blame you for not liking me so I think I know now how you felt. But you can believe this that I have never tried to take any of Edison's affections away from you, nor will I ever try. I can truthfully say that I've never said one thing against you or Buddy.

Rushmore: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The Rushmore soundtrack manages to pleasantly skirt the line between sentiment and sentimentality with a nuanced, eminently listenable combo of score and song. The songs mostly blend raw, adolescent urges and insecurity with an awkward grace. Though composed primarily of popular music from the 1960s, none of the selections is a hit of the expected Big Chill variety. In fact, compiler Randall Poster proves himself a '60s pop connoisseur, including little-known gems such as Cat Stevens's buoyant, hummable "Here Comes My Baby" (covered by Yo La Tengo on Fakebook) and the Who 's revved-up, intentionally silly proto-opera "A Quick One While He's Away." The bossa nova folk-pop of Unit 4+2's "Concrete & Clay" is lovingly contrasted by the Creation's blistering, feedback-enhanced hit-that-never-was "Making Time." Devo founder Mark Mothersbaugh's incidental music is nothing short of delightful, but the Rugrats composer clearly comes by whimsy easily. The intriguing thing about Mothersbaugh's score--seven snippets from which are sprinkled throughout the disc--is that it complements the archival tunes while combining Beethoven-lite flourishes and jazzy instrumentation with percolating mod keyboards. Like the film itself, this soundtrack is an inspired, left-field effort, and it's difficult to plot out its many charms. --Mike McGonigal

So today was pretty much the worst day of my summer.

I woke up with a migraine wishing I would have taken a damn vicodin like the other night. It was like after 9 and I was supposed to get all this stuff done so I was already discouraged.

I go down about 11-12 to the MVD (DMV for out of towners) to get my ID. so the same friggin woman who made me do loopholes galore to get social security card and transcript stuff said they dont accept school transcripts after 2007 or some bullshit. But whatever. My mother of course said how much of a waste of time it was for her and cried (who the hell cries over something so retarded? when the person it directly affects isnt even THAT upset) so she was a horrible bitch to me the entire afternoon. I got snapped at for "making pointless fights" from my grandmother because I simply corrected my mothers always tainted information.

I wanted to make Frank's Yukata today. 1. because i want to make him one 2. because thats all i could think of to do with my grandmother to entertain her

so we found a pattern ut it wasnt in stock at Jo Anns... she drags me to Michael's and then Hobby Lobby (i bought some cheaper materal pretty much again my will) oh and the most annoying part. After talking for an hour about spending all this money at Kmart when she was bored on my cousin's crap like clothes... she makes me use the graduation money she gave me yesterday to buy all of it. not just material and a pattern but pins and all the other stuff.... I have a whole 11 cents left

so we get to her hotel and she tells me to cut out the pieces of the pattern we need. then she nags me for being slow and too perfectionist. =_= then when i go to fast she looks at me like im a moron

the other annoying part was my foster cousin Angel called (as always) with some major crisis. She got prgenant at age 16-17 and then again like 18-19 and she left the newborn with her bfs mother and litterally left it there. Then her bf dumped her... so shes homeless with a 2 year old (well she was staying with friends but they have to kick her out by tomorrow cuz they are leaving supposedly) so what does my grandmother do. She offers to buy her a studio apartment and buys her a week in a hotel.

i mean yes i am glad she is not on the street. but I am so sick of being complimented for being a good kid but never getting treated like i deserve shit. If I got pregnant with Frank's baby and we needed money i KNOW she wouldnt give me squat.

i found out she is probably lying about her hearing.

when i try to bring up something about myself or anything that interests me even if its loud she just ignores me

im so glad shes leaving.

I had an awful day. Im pretty sure the Yukata looks bad because i didnt have an ounce of fun. She ran me like an idiot sweatshop worker rather than trying to help me learn or have fun.

im tired of putting myself out there and trying to do something other people like to make them feel welcome.

everyone from now on is expected to go with me to anime conventions, movies, play tennis and eat picnic lunches. =3=

Okay, what a weird combination of people, but I guess sophomore year was like that. It's me, Carrie C., Tim and that dude in the baseball hat in the back -- I don't remember his name, and i can barely remember him. Why were we all in Santa Monica? I seem to remember we had to drive someone to LAX, and decided to go to Santa Monica on the way back for the hell of it. I don't know.

But we all lived in the same dorm -- Petersen Dorm -- and we all, like, partied! Whoo! we were CRAYZAY! And Tim had to have all the parties because he liked having the control. Carrie always psychoanalyzed everything. Dude in baseball hat, no idea what he did.

Me -- I was never in my room because one roommate was overly religious (she found me puking after an all night "Star Trek Drinking Game" marathon and said, "I think we need to talk to God about this," and I told her she could talk to whomever she wanted -- I was going back to bed) yet she broke the rules by having her boyfriend spend the night and her pet poodle living there. She was always on a diet, and wouldn't go down to the cafeteria, making all her meals in the room. Her parents also lived about 10 minutes away, so they would pop in all the time. Great fun to be sitting there, watching MTV smoking a cigarette in leggings and a sweatshitrt and hearing, "Yoo hoo! Anybody home?" Yep, what every college student LOVES. My other roommate was from Norway and she knit a lot and her favorite movie was Dirty Dancing, so she played the soundtrack over and over. And over. And over. She was having the time of her life, but I was ready to put Baby in a damn corner. My third roommate had been kicked out a few weeks into the semester -- she had looked like she had walked straight off the carnival midway, complete with menthol Virginia Slims, fringed boots, feathered hair, and rose and Tasmanian Devil tattoos. She was a peach and really scary -- she was 19 but didn't look a day over trailer park 40 -- but I was sort of disappointed because when she got booted, I became the bad roommate. And I was.

But it was like living with two old ladies. They had chintz and doilies and Bibles with embroidered bookmarks as "coffee table books" and even an old poodle, and liked to watch "the soaps." In retrospect I feel bad about being so obnoxious, but I was only 19. So were they, but whereas I was nineteen going on, well, 20, they were 19 going on 90.

At the time I thought my little room, big enough for a bed and a dresser (and not enough room for 400 albums and cassette tapes in milk crates but I managed) was totally soundproof. They went to bed at 9 every night, so they could get up and do quiet Bible study. I, on the other hand, stumbled in on weekends (and sometimes weeknights) at the ungodly hour of eleven and would turn on the radio. And sometimes I even had friends with me. We'd SHUSH all through the common area, then go into my room (directly adjacent to theirs) and turn on the stereo and start talking and laughing, like we were far away, while they tried to sleep under their cabbage rose comforters with their teddy bears and Pierrot dolls.

Poor Gro and Lisa. Sigh.
