LOW PASS FILTER DC. PUROLATOR FUEL FILTER CROSS REFERENCE.

Low Pass Filter Dc

low pass filter dc

    pass filter
  • A band-pass filter is a device that passes frequencies within a certain range and rejects (attenuates) frequencies outside that range. An example of an analogue electronic band-pass filter is an RLC circuit (a resistor–inductor–capacitor circuit).

    low
  • A low point, level or figure

  • A particularly bad or difficult moment

  • in a low position; near the ground; "the branches hung low"

  • less than normal in degree or intensity or amount; "low prices"; "the reservoir is low"

  • A state of depression or low spirits

  • an air mass of lower pressure; often brings precipitation; "a low moved in over night bringing sleet and snow"

    dc
  • Direct current

  • District of Columbia: the district occupied entirely by the city of Washington; chosen by George Washington as the site of the capital of the United States and created out of land ceded by Maryland and Virginia

  • District of Columbia

  • Da capo

  • direct current: an electric current that flows in one direction steadily

  • Augustin Pyramus de Candolle also spelt Augustin Pyrame de Candolle (4 February 1778 - 9 September 1841) was a Swiss botanist. The author abbreviation used in citing plant names he published is "DC.". He originated the idea of "Nature's war", which influenced Charles Darwin.

FDR Memorial

FDR Memorial

FDR Memorial statue (the original statue)

FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT (1882-1945)

•Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States

•He was the only man ever elected to four terms as President

•When he was inaugurated for the first time (1933), the Great Depression was at its height and 25% of the U.S. labor force was unemployed

•He died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Warm Springs, Georgia on April 12, 1945, less than three months after his fourth inauguration and four months before the end of the Second World War

•He was an excellent swimmer and sailor when he was young and wanted to join the Navy but his family discouraged that

•He trained as a lawyer but never practiced law

•He married his distant cousin, Eleanor Roosevelt, in 1905; they formed a strong partnership and she worked closely with him throughout his political career

•He entered politics in 1910 when he was elected state senator in the New York State legislature

•In 1921 he contracted polio while sailing off the coast of Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada; he went to bed exhausted and was unable to move his legs when he woke the following morning; he never walked again without crutches or other outside support

•He was elected Governor of New York in 1928

•Many of his major social programs, developed to bring the United States to economic recovery, are referred to as the "Alphabet Soup" agencies because they are usually referred to by their acronyms; among them are:
...The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) -- which brought hydroelectric power to the rural areas of the Tennessee Valley
...The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) -- which trained young men in Army-like boot camps and then sent them out to reclaim the land and work on ecological projects
...The Works Progress Administration (WPA) -- which funded new buildings and the arts, including photography, sculpture, and murals in public buildings

•When he came to Washington DC as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, he was disappointed to find there was no memorial to Thomas Jefferson, whom he considered the first truly democratic president; he remedied that during his presidency by encouraging Congress to build the Jefferson Memorial, which he dedicated on April 13, 1943

The Water Theme In The FDR Memorial
One of the major themes in the memorial involves the image of water. The memorial includes seven different waterfalls and sits between the Potomac River and the Tidal Basin. The theme of water did recur in FDR's life:

•The Roosevelt family made their money in shipping

•FDR himself was an excellent swimmer and good sailor and wanted to join the U.S. Navy

•FDR was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy in 1913

•FDR contracted polio while swimming off the coast of New Brunswick, Canada

•FDR used swimming and hydrotherapy to build and maintain his strength after his illness; he was quoted as saying, "The water got me here and the water is going to have to bring me back"

•FDR's most famous economic policy concept was that of "priming the pump" -- by adding a little water to a hand-operated water pump, you can get a lot of water to flow (see the waterfalls under "Second Term Room" for more)

•One of FDR's most successful New Deal programs was the Tennessee Valley Authority, which harnessed the power of water to bring electricity to rural areas

•FDR spent much of his time at a therapeutic spa in Warm Springs, Georgia -- so much that it became known as "The Little White House"; it was there that he died in 1945

The water also serves a very practical purpose from the perspective of the architect: it helps to mask the sound of airplanes flying along the Potomac River on their way to and from the Reagan National Airport

THE MEMORIAL
---The largest memorial in Washington DC at over 16 acres

•The Memorial was dedicated on May 2, 1997

•The primary architect was Lawrence Halprin, who worked very closely with a committee of the artists who created the sculptures and art in the memorial

•The walls of the FDR Memorial are made of red granite from South Dakota

•Halprin sought to create a memorial that would not overwhelm the visitor but would instead draw him or her through a series of impressions of life in the United States during the Roosevelt Years

•The memorial was designed to have four chambers, one for each of FDR's terms

•A fifth chamber was added to the entrance of the memorial during 2001 and includes a life-size statue of FDR in his wheelchair; this chamber represents the years prior to his presidency

THE FIRST TERM ROOM

•The first room is dedicated to FDR's first term as president, 1933-1937

•When FDR was inaugurated on March 4, 1933, one-fourth of the workforce was unemployed and the country was in the midst of the Great Depression

•The quotation near the entrance "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" was taken from FDR's First Inaugural Address and

Skyline Drive: trip #4: -1eV, gamma-corrected

Skyline Drive: trip #4: -1eV, gamma-corrected

[CVS ISO200 > Gimp]

{well some Flickr screwup deleted all this the first time I typed it in after I added tags to these images using the Organize and Create" tool so I have to redo a good 15 minutes of typing...}

point being

This is shot -1eV like all of the film shots from SD#4, and I reprocessed many of them in Gimp using between 0.65 and 0.9 gamma-correction, a mild USM mask and contrast. No gamma GND masking, because it seems that by the time I get the sky the right shade there's too much cellulite noise in the sky.

Much like taking an underexposed night shot with a CMOS camera, taking the raw file and processing that, and pushing it up 2 stops or so, you see all the CMOS pattern noise. Well with any digital sensor you will see noise under those conditions. But I am not talking about an underexposed night shot here, I'm talking about a shot taken in bright sunlight. How could this be "underexposed"?

Well I guess that it could be, technically. No matter how bright the ambient light is it is always possible to underexpose the shot. So here I could only recover the midtones and shadows with gamma-reduction. There just isn't much there in the highlights. Odd, but true.

DxO 6.3 of course can't do much with this (the original), I suppose that Bibble can't do much with it either. So yes, I think that this calls for some "test shots" taken in the DC area, as much like this as I can find.

Before riding 250 miles and spending $50 to shoot these again. In late November. The next roll at least will be shot with the exposure nailed at 0eV.

I note in passing that -1eV would work fine for a digital camera on just about any scene, at worst you'd have to push it a little, at best it would allow the camera to capture the whole DR without blowing out the highlights or shadows. My old 1MP cellphone might put a yellow cast on the white clouds there but still would come up with a decent overall result. I guess my point is that it is really hard to blow a shot like this with a digital camera, yet somehow with film and all my photographic experience, I managed to do just that. Even after coming up here twice with disposable cameras and getting similar results. Intriguing.

...is it the film, plain and simple?
We will see.

But I know one thing, if we can't put a mid-level Nikon SLR on 0eV evaluative and get good results with a Tamron zoom shot wide-angle at F8 aperture-priority with ISO200 film on a wide-angle daylight shot taken from 2500 feet on a partly-cloudy day, developed at CVS? Something is seriously wrong. Either CVS is utterly, totally botching-up the development or the film simply can't handle this sort of dynamic-range. But sure, I'll shoot it at 0eV and try CVS again. I should also try another developer, but I really doubt that it's the developing.

This would be a shame because it is really cheap and easy to shoot this camera and obviously the shots don't have any Bayer-blur or low-pass filtering. Even at 1MP they have decent fine-detail.
