Albert Einstein Sculpture: National Academy of Sciences
My favorite outdoor artwork in all of Washington, D.C.. The Albert Einstein sculpture sits behind the National Academy of Sciences, just off Constitution Avenue.
I occasionally attend conferences & other events at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). I love going down to the NAS. Once there, irrespective of the conference/event, I like to think of the people who have walked--& who still walk, the halls: Einstein (of course), Stephen Hawking, Aage Bohr, Freeman Dyson, Tony Fauci, et alia.
During these fleeting moments, I think of how far I have come &, in what seems like a surprise, feel gratitude for the crazy & unanticipated path that led me on the brink of mid-life to become a scientist (rare are these moments--& rarer still are the feelings of gratitude).

Caldwell discussed coalition support for the growth and training of the ANA and the impact of programs such as NMAA. The class of solar year 1388 is the first class to graduate from NMAA.
