- timex is a Unix utility tool, most commonly used in the measurement of duration of shell processes. It is also used to measure process data and system activity. The tool appears in IBM's AIX version of Unix and the Solaris Operating System from Sun Microsystems.
Corner with both velcro edges
The blanket has 4 panels to be fastened together with velcro. This is both the loop velcro and the hook velcro. The hook velcro faces the opposite side of the blanket from the loop velcro, and it has a small flap to keep it from being scratchy if the panels aren't completely lined up.
(All that cat hair is *after* I cleaned a bunch of cat hair off of it. It was a mess!)
Velcro mimicking plant structure
Velcro mimics the structure of many plant seeds that are designed to attach to animals walking past the plant. This sticky structure aids in the dispresal of the plant seeds and aids in reproduction. Scientists studied the structure of these seeds when making velcro. This picture represents an example of Biomimicry, which we discussed in Biology lecture.
