Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost, an epic poem in blank verse, written by the 17th-century poet John Milton as he became blind at the end of his life, is a retelling of the Biblical story of the Fall of Man. While based on the Christian tale, the poem incorporates many topics, and spends most of its verses detailing the journey of Satan and his war on the angels. The depiction of Adam and Eve draws an elaborate panorama of their trials. This classic of Western literature is wide-reaching and enormously influential, and should not be absent from the modern reader's bookshelf.

Continuing on with our winter tour of homes
This is another wonderful old home on Division St. It is in the book "Walla Walla, Her Historic Homes Volume II" by Penny and Bob Andrews. This English Country Style house was built in 1926 for Nathaniel & Ella Webbs. Nathaniel was born in Walla Walla in 1876. Inside all the woodwork is gum wood, the door knobs are crystal, the ceiling coved and the floors hardwood.
Robert and Lavonne Frazier purchased the home in 1959 and raised their three children in it. In 1992 it was up for sale (when the book was published). Bob is the 5th generation of Fraziers to farm in the valley. His grandparents, Lyle and Gladys Frazier, willed their home and its contents to the Milton-Freewater Area Historical Society. It is now called the Frazier Farmstead Museum and open to the public.
