ACCELERATED RADIO / RADIONICA/ RASPORED / workshop outline

MM centar 27-20-11.2006 vodi: Anna Colin Accelerated Radio is a 4 day-long workshop enabling and guiding the production of radio specific content. Using radio as a space for artistic production, Accelerated Radio invites anyone who wishes to experiment with the medium and share its ideas and knowledge. Day 1 // Monday 27 November 2006 / 3 – 4 hours / afternoon Overlap with Mat. Putting into practice the skills the participants have learned through working with Mat. Actual production of a programme (duration to be decided). Recording, manual editing and putting together of a radio programme. Recordings could take place inside and outside, in settings with various noise levels. The people who have been working with Mat as well as the ones who will join the Accelerated Radio workshop would ideally all contribute to this day. ///////////////////// Day 2//Tuesday 28 November 2006 / 3 - 4 hours / afternoon or evening Early afternoon / 1 hour: presentation of Resonance 104.4FM (www.resonancefm.com), Radio Gallery (www.radiogallery.org), radia (www.radia.fm) and ways of approaching radio according to my experience. Showing also key examples of freeform radio stations in Europe and abroad. Followed by / 2 - 3 hours: Discussion and brainstorming session. Accelerated Radio dedicates part of its activities to debating and developing ideas around the presentation and mediation of radio content. What can and should radio do? Who does it serve and how does that translate in the programmes’ production? Furthermore, what are the compromises between informative and experimental radio? Departing from the earlier discussion and from what we did the day before with Mat, we will talk through what we want to achieve through that workshop and how everyone envisages making radio. We will debate over content and collaboratively plan the next two days. ///////////////////// Day 3 // Wednesday 29 November 2006 / 3 - 4 hours / afternoon or evening According to what has been discussed the previous day, we would stage recording situations, record content, make jingles and edit the material. ///////////////////// Day 4// Thursday 30 November 2006 / 3 - 4 hours / afternoon or evening Making of a programme that reflects the process and outcome of the workshop, not necessarily in a linear or descriptive way. This could be a collaborative work or a set of individual contributions. Followed by the presentation of the material produced during this workshop and an evaluation of the workshop through discussion. |
