My new toy, a reward for surviving getting half a root canal -- the project will be finished in one week, ack! 128mb flash storage (thus 2 hours of music or 1 hour of video), 1.1" OLED screen (96x64), plays AVI / MPEG / WMV (all when converted to AMV) / MP3 / WMA, views JPGs but you gotta be kidding on that size screen, has FM radio and the ability to record off the radio (and gets really good reception, you'll notice the earbud cord is metallic for a reason), and has a Li-ion battery which charges through the USB and has a lackluster life of 4 hours for music or 2 hours for video but that's still twice the device's capacity so it's okay, and the best feature IMHO is that Windows sees it as a flash drive so there's no xfer software necessary. Some places still sell it for its list price of $70 while others have marked it down to $30... Target has it on clearance for $23.
This was marketted to the 'tweens, and all the free video available for it on TigerTube.com came from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Never mind that detail, it's fine for grownups (and grownup content). Video software came with it but I downloaded MyMPxPlayer.org's AMV conversion software for more flexibility. And while I say the color is deep scarlet purple, the website calls this color "pink".
Obvious complaint: the controls (and its nearby screen) attract greasy fingerprints like no one's business. But, as a review of the device online said, it's got the bonus factor of being so small other people (in the context of its target audience, that would be "teachers") don't know it's there.
