Swedish Style: Creating the Look
With its emphasis on light-infused interiors and fresh painted surfaces, Swedish interior design is easy to live with, traditional and yet contemporary in its appeal. Katrin Cargill distils the chief characteristics of a look that embraces the cool colo rs and modest proportions of Gustavian interiors and the unpretentious charm of country nostalgia. Five practical chapters – The Essence of Swedish Style, Color and Paint, Furniture, Fabric and Accessories – show how you can adapt and recreate this style in your own home. The photographs, many of little-known Swedish interiors, feature rooms where the look has been successfully recreated and some of the period houses that provide the inspiration.
Sunflower Six - Reproduction - Complete With Bee
Reproduction - Wide shot provides a detailed overshot of a sunflower and its reproductive organs and its immense beauty! In this shot, the sunflower's organs are all opened and complete. When the sunflower head starts to open, until it sets seed, you will notice changes to the head. You will see different looking rings on the head that move from the outer part of the head inward, toward the center of the head. When the head first opens, the individual disk flowers are still undeveloped, and the head is rather flat. Starting from the outer part of the head, next to the ray flowers (petals), you will see the first ring, which is the pollen producing anthers (male) which will move toward the center of the head. Following behind the first ring , is the second ring of style branches (female). After the style branches pick up pollen from another sunflower, the disk flowers start to wither, and fall off, exposing the achenes, as the seeds fully develop. You will see the head mushroom outward as the seeds develop, and you will see the head turn downward, facing toward the ground because of the weight of the seeds. Shot Day 2
Reproduction of Paul Klee's Castle and Sun in mosaic-work in progress
For as long as I remember I've always loved paintings of Paul Klee - they make me happy. I love his sense of color, use of geometrical shapes and the surreal scenes. I've wanted to do the reproduction of his Castle and Sun painting in mosaics for the longest time and finally I've got some time and materials available. Pardon the mess :) WIP.
