Zircon 58052 StudSensor Pro SL Wood and Metal Stud Sensor
Nonmagnetic tool measures wall density. SpotLite pointing system locates edges of studs with bright beam and sound. Finds both wood and metal studs. Deep Scan technology penetrates extra thick wall coverings. Works on sheetrock, wood, plaster, and acoustic ceilings. Inner pack of 8 comes on a preloaded clip strip.
If you've ever tried locating studs by pounding a hammer against the wall or making exploratory holes, you know how inexact a science that is. The Zircon Studsensor Pro SL eliminates the guesswork and makes it easy to find wall studs (wood or metal), floor joists, and ceiling beams through drywall and most bare-wood flooring up to 1-1/2 inches thick. All you do is move the unit across the surface you want to scan. When it reaches a stud edge, the Studsensor lets you know by projecting a beam of light onto the surface. An audio signal and LED display are also provided. --Carl Thress
Framing for the Bathroom Floor Joists
Looking at the shadow of the metal frame, you might ask, why doesn't the middle brace come all the way to the end of the trailer? Well this is because in one square the shower will sit, another the throne, and the last but not least the sink. All of which will allow the plumbing room to exit and enter from underneath, yet still support the floor joists, since we are only using 2x4's for the joists. Most of the strength in the floor is actually from the metal frame of the trailer.
Time For a Deck Party
Joist hangers are used to attach the floor joist to the rim board of the deck. The hanger is a metal frame used to hold the joist more securely. This must be done before the cedar decking material is installed.

The Wall Wizard is a precision stud finder. The Wall Wizards precisely locates studs inside of walls by locating the screws that holds dry wall onto studs. Unlike other stud sensors on the market, Wall Wizards are precision metal detectors. Wall Wizards accuratley detect screws or nails that are used in holding the dry wall on to walls. Other stud sensors work (or don't work) by measuring the volume and mass of the wall to locate a stud. They are inconsistent in locating studs because the volume and mass of a wall may change due to dampness, patchwork or many other variables in wall construction. Wall Wizards are consistently accurate because they simply locate the screws that hold the dry wall onto walls.
