Amazing what a couple of dance balls can do :)

I was inspired to put these pics up after receiving an invitation from Kimberly Mirabeau to join her new group "Dancing through Second Life". I always liked these pics, so dug through my HD to find them for this group.

They are from quite awhile ago, back in March of this year, and after I had only been in SL a fairly short time. I met Tom while exploring the beautiful sim of Silk Water's Mountain. We struck up a friendship right away. He is a lot of fun to be around..intelligent...witty...kind.. with a great sense of humor....not to mention his very handsome avatar :) I mentioned at the time that I had never gone dancing in SL, and really wanted to dance on the beautiful dance floor at Lost Gardens of Apollo. He said, let's go, and before I knew it, I was teleported to the dance floor. I didn't even have on an appropriate dress, since he was in a tuxedo, and had nothing in my inventory at that point that I could put on, but it didn't seem to matter.

I wanted to try all the dances and so we did, but when we got to the Slow Dance, suddenly the situation felt very intimate.

At this point in my SL life, I knew very little about pose balls, other than seeing them lying around in places, and certainly having read about them, but once engaged with these dance balls I was struck by the incredibly romantic mood they created almost immediately between the avatars. I remember it was startling at the time, especially since we hadn't known each other long at that point. I remember, at first, feeling almost like a voyeur, watching a very private, romantic moment between two people I didn't know.

We were never able to spend much time together in SL due to a 6 hour time difference, and my absence from SL for a few months due to RL stuff, but he has remained a good friend. He is now happily involved with another SL resident, and I wish them both well, and much happiness together.

Me: celsiy what are you doing sitting on the floor? shouldn't you be dancing?

Celsiy: um, well... i don't have my point shoes on yet.

Me: well them put them on!

Celsiy: but... but... miss tedd-a-rina dosen't want to dance.

Me: oh great.... >.<

Celsiy's always making up excuses why she thinks she souldn't have to dance with her class and learn the routine. i guess she's mad because lacey's in a higher class than her or somthing. ah well! XD more celsiy spam! ahhh! once i put lacey and cherry on their obitsu's the madness will end! i promise!
