Today has been my first full day in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I'm here with my boss and her twins, Alex and Max. I worked a few hours this morning, then had the rest of the day off. I felt pretty tired after our long travel day yesterday: we flew from Seattle to Chicago, missed our connecting flight to Ft. Lauderdale, got a flight to Miami, our bags didn't show up, we drove to the airport in Ft. Lauderdale and thankfully found our bags there, then drove to the hotel--all of this with six-month-old twins in tow, mind you. I felt like taking a nap but couldn't do it. I talked to a friend on the phone, then headed out to the beach to take pictures and hunt for treasure. I found this bottlecap--usually a sight I hate to see in nature--and was smitten with the treasure I found, so beautifully accented by the blue behind it. It is my hope that nature (or Nature, if you prefer) will take back the planet, growing green over the asphalt, filling plastic cavities with Herself, as shown here. It could happen.
On the Wings of a Prayer . . .
Just close you eyes and open your heart
And feel the worries and cares depart
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.
For life on earth grows more involved
With endless problems that can’t be solved,
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then he will take over the rest…
So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you,
And that is the door to the House Of Prayer,
And you’ll find God waiting for you there.
And the House of Prayer is no further away
Than the quiet spot where we kneel and pray.
For the heart is a temple when God is there
And we place ourselves in his loving care
And he hears every prayer and answers each one
When we Pray in His name- Thy will be done.
The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
Are lifted away on The Wings of a Prayer.
